How to make Shazam IN D&D. WARNING SHAZAM MOVIE SPOILERS.

so as the title says there will be spoilers for the Shazam movie. So if you want to see the movie without any spoilers RUN! RUN FAR FAR AWAY. Ok I think that does it for a spoiler warning. But still the rest will be in spoilers DISCLAIMER
i do not own rights to the character Shazam! Please don’t sue me. Actually this is about my d&d build. Not copyright (still please don’t sue). I am only basing this off of the movies so comic book fans don’t get mad if I don’t get Billy’s powers and what not wrong and i currently don’t have any of my d&d stuff on me(let’s hope my keen minded feat and six years of playing pays off) so other dungeons and dragons fans I am more happy to accept other ideas to optimize the build. Lastly, I don’t know what dm would allow you to play a level 2 character turn Into a level 17-20 instantly with one word, so this is just for fun. Again THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE. Get out if you don’t want to see them With that being said let’s get started.
Race, background, and alignment
ok so Shazam is actually going to be a mix of two characters. A level 2 rouge and a level 17 cleric. I will explain why those classes later. So billy batson is definitely a rouge and Shazam is a cleric. But what race? Well batson isn’t a god, nor is he some elf dwarf or hafling for that matter, so let’s settle with human. Variant human would be great because you can pick up a feat and at level one that could be good. But than again you can turn into a high level character at will so race doesn’t matter really but let’s stick with human. Now for alignment, I would say chaotic good. Shazam was supposed to be pure of heart and all but billy is defiantly not a lawful character. Stealing expensive projectiles and running away from the police isn’t very lawful. And for his background option choose urchin. He is a orphan who goes from foster home to foster home, definitely urchin.
Classes
Now since I don’t have any of my books I am not dealing with multiclassing, so we are treating batson and Shazam as different characters and the magic word SHAZAM! Switches characters. That being said I am setting billy batson as a level 2 rouge. Here is why -first his personality. He just seems like a rouge -SNEAK ATTACK! When he was fighting the bullies outside of school, he did massive damage in one hit. Of course this was because he had advantage in his role which applied the sneak attack ability to his damag. After he has no advantage causing him to run away -lastly cunning action. When Shazam was fighting one of the sins, Rath, he turned Into billy to strike him with a lightning bolt. The events that followed could be seen as him rolling to avoid a attack and run away, but I saw it as a rouge using his cunning action ability’s to disengage and his action to dash. Now that I figured batson our time for the harder one, Shazam! So on the car ride home while thinking of this I was thinking, what would Shazam be? And since I don’t have my d&d books I came up with the best idea that I could remember existed. A cleric. Or more specifically a level 17(or higher)Tempus Domain cleric. What where the requirements or Shazam, well all those powers the old man wizard said does (although the divine magic comes from the wizards power, this is bordering on warlock territory but cleric works better). -the wisdom of Solomon. Well what are clerics soellcasting ability? Wisdom and since Shazam’s character sheet may have modified ability’s scores wisdom may be added. -the zappy-Fingers of Zeus since Shazam likes lightening I decided a tempus domain cleric would be good. Extra lightningspells, the ability to zap people who attack them, and a channel divinity that makes lightning and thunder do max damage, very good. -flight level 17 tempus clerics can fly. Enough said. -strength and toughness now this is where I run out of ability’s. As a tempus domain you get proficiency with marital weapons and heavy armor. A high strength score means you could be doing a lot of damage. And sure Shazam doesn’t really wear armor but I had to make sacrifices and heavy armor still protects. -speed. yah I couldn’t get this one in. Maybe he has the infinite hast effect or something? -the transition between characters well the word Shazam is all that is required for billy to turn into Shazam so as the character says that that is all that is required. Lightning bolt is cast from the sky to damage nearby enemy’s.
note to the audience
what did you think? Sure it’s not perfect but it was fun. Should I do more of these, when watching things something I sit back and make d&d characters in my head. Thanks for reading
