did you kill the 2 knights at the end when he shields?? u gotta do that if u dont u wont get thorn

How fast did you kill Savathun's Song? It can happen that you don't get the Weapon when you kill the Boss too fast. You have to wait until Savathun's Song teleports to the back of the room, then the two big Knights spawn and you have to kill them both before killing Savathun's Song as the Quest states it.

As so we did. My friend has done this quest before and told us this and so we did that. Both knights and all other orange minions then the big baddy. We think the simple solution to this whole problem is due to my low gear score in turn dealing no damage myself and so i technically did not kill anything just distracted whilst they did

Yeah, that might be the issue. If you deal no damage at all, it might not count the completion, that happens in the Forges as well.

Not really, just finish the campaign and then do your Milestones and adventures as nearly everything can bring you higher. As you can get Thorn, I guess you own the Annual Pass? You could do the Power Surge Bounties from the Drifter that give 640 items. That would push your power level a lot.
