Arbalest doesn't feel exotic
The only thing "exotic" about this gun is its the only kinetic linear fusion rifle. It does a little extra damage to shields, nothing major. It really feels like it needs a buff or something else. Maybe an immediate catalyst, some kind of burn or weakening effect. By itself it's meh!

Try it in Gambit. It’s straight cheese.

It already has a weakening effect. It debuffs an enemy to add 50% more kinetic damage from EVERYONE.

Its good in Crucible and gambit, but it could use a buff to make it a little more viable for different situations. Replace disruption break with a slightly different perk that makes enemies more vulnerable to all damage upom breaking shields. Make the shields explode when you break them, and hit precision shots through shields. Boom. Viable exotic.

I think it feels exotic. It doesnt feel worthy of occupying an exotic spot though. It doesnt fit my play style either, but I've given it a fair share of playtime so that I don't write it off. It's like Izanagis Burden. Fun in the right context, but not worth my exotic slot.

😂 the best primaries in the game are legendary and locked behind other players... and you are concerned about the arbalest? At least it smokes anything with a shield. Goes well with Luna/not forgotten/ recluse.

There are a few things that are 'exotic' about the Arbalest: - Kinetic fusion rifle, albeit a linear fusion rifle, is the first of its kind and is setting a precedent. - Only linear fusion rifle in the game that takes special ammo. The rest require heavy ammo. - Only kinetic weapon that's meant to be used against shields, [b]and[/b] gives itself a damage buff after taking out said shields. This gun seems to be more 'exotic' than others that we've seen in the past.

12 RepliesThis is how exotics have to be now unfortunately. If it was any more powerful, the nerf arbalest posts would infect the forums from pvp players. Same reason spectral blades will soon have the least amount of damage resistance of any roaming super. Pve suffers again. They give the super a melting point type effect but the boss will melt you before you can apply it. Why they cant make these changes a crucible only thing boggles my mind.

It increase kinetic damages by 50%, if it is not enough, then there is no weapons that feel exotic.

It does a lot of damage to shields and it does feel exotic because it’s super fun to use
