So when I first saw this event I was pretty excited because I saw they were finally giving us some cool ass ornaments and my thoughts were "It's about damn time they're giving us ornaments like they did in D1" but I was soon disappointed after hearing they're also taking away the ornaments after the event is over. I've been waiting for so long thinking they were going to come around and bring us nice ornaments for our armor because let's be honest pretty much every armor set is ugly and doesn't stand out in D2. So now I'm asking why..? And what happened to those nice armor designs & ornaments we were getting at the end of D1? It's like they completely forgotten what we like to see. I don't want to have to wait until Destiny 3 is near and this game becomes irrelevant to most players and including myself for this game to finally get some cool looking stuff. I know it's all looks but I want to look good when I'm doing raids, pvp or just AFKing in the tower and I'm sure everyone agrees.

  • The game only becomes irrelevant to you if you let it. Perspective.

  • Thank you. I get what you're saying though. But personally I know even after D3 is out, I will return to D1 and D2 from time to time. I've played them so much and built up my characters so much, it would be a waste to never come and play with them.

  • Don't get me wrong, I do like to go back once in a while to do old raids in D1 with friends just because they were so much fun and because I love my characters. It just hits me everytime when I'm on D1 because I really didn't get to enjoy showing off all of the hard work I put into my characters since people and most of my friends moved on and were waiting for D2 to drop.

  • Yeah. Wish more people would jump on D1. I'd like to set up some kind of weekly or monthly community event for D1 enjoyment. It's also worth considering some people are just getting into Destiny and may be starting with the first one. I know I would if I was new to the series. There is so much fun to be had on that game.

  • I totally agree with you on this. I think it sounds like a great idea to get people excited to go back just to do old raids and even have fresh new players go and see what they missed out on.

  • I thought the same thing and agree entirely. Apparently though, Bungie has decided they can’t let us look cool unless: 1) they are about to launch a full sequel, making the game obsolete (Age of Triumph sets and ornaments at end of D1) 2) they are about to release an expansion that makes all previous armor sets obsolete (Solstice armor sets and ornaments at the end of D2 Y1) Or 3) they make the ornaments or their visibility expire at the end of an event, making them obsolete that way (Revelry) I think the vast majority of us would prefer to be able to still use all these to define our own look as we move forward, but at the very least all these things should be a little easier to obtain if they are just going to be yanked away anyways. Otherwise people grind to often get them just before they are useless anyway and that is not rewarding at all. This plus the shader and infusion systems really makes it seem like they want us looking ugly all the time. Maybe to make the newbies feel more comfortable, but shouldn’t we be able to continue to show off our accomplishments in game with the way we look?
