Started this week at 388 Glory, now at 0 Glory. Last 4 games I've been matched against 3 or 4 stacks with 4.0 or 5.0 Kds while my teammates and I all have 1.0 or less. Why are people with 5.0 Kds being matched against people with 100 or less Glory?
The lack of skill-based matchmaking and the prevalence of paid carry teams are ruining this game. Glory shouldn't decrease, period. It isn't an enjoyable gaming experience.
EDIT2:
Depression hit hard... I'm buying Aim Hero and practicing today... I won't give up.

1 ReplyObviously you’re not playing as bungie intended you’re supposed to pay someone to carry you or pay for an account recovery.

Edited by Rin X: 4/16/2019 9:11:08 PMMaybe you're using the wrong subclass or weapons, armor, armor mods etc. Or maybe you're playing when you don't feel like it. It's best to jump in when you're fired up for the slaughter of your enemies. It is certainly possible to get Luna's as a solo with blueberries. Don't let the toxicity get to you. Take a break, make a sandwich. Also, optionally, you can try to play at a certain time when all the sweats aren't playing.

14 Replies"Glory shouldn't decrease. Period." I'm going to greatly disagree here. You don't want to EVER lose progress? You could lose a 100 games, and then win 1, and voila, you lose NOTHING? Comp has many problems, being matchmaking, teams, etc. But this is a request I find ridiculous. If it's your skill, practice and endure. If it's your teammates, make a team. I'm sure you'll get it in time. I hope Bungie improves and fixes these complaints but Fabled has NEVER been easier to obtain. If it's truly THIS painful to endure comp, then I recommend just staying away from it completely. Good luck with the grind.

4 RepliesIm sorry to tell you this but not everyone is meant for greatness or in this case, the lunas howl. If you cant earn the gun I promise you that you wont do well with it. Its plain and simple, yes the weapon is op, yes the weapon makes kill easier but if you seriously have 0 glory there is no hope for you. Im not trying to be a terrible person but I want you to save hours upon hours of your life so you don’t get frustrated to the point of gettin depressed. Destiny is just a game and I highly recommend you try to unlock other weapons, last word is better than lunas at close range hands down. I don’t want you to feel bad and if you do I’m sorry, Don’t force yourself to do something you cant do. Accept you arent good at pvp and thats totally fine, pvp is full of try hards when it should be full of players trying to have fun. Now a days we have players making everything a competition and its annoying, I grew up playing smash bros and I loved playing the game for fun but after ultimate came out, I have my friends talking about meta and what character trumps who.
-
I won't either, and I'm fine with that. PvP is cancer.
-
I'll never earn them either... Because I don't care. If I'm going to be playing a video game, it's going to be to have fun. Pvp is not fun for me. So IDC. *shrugs* There are way cooler weapons to earn in Pve anyway.
-
Every competitive game I’ve played has decreasing rank points on a loss. I do agree with paid carries and recovs tho, that shit is ridiculous.
-
This is honestly why I don't do comp in general, nothing but sweaty try hard clans, as well as paid carries and account recoveries, its lame tbh.
-
I agree with your overall point but you should've quit well before that; personally, I'll quit for the week, if I lose two games in a row. If I'm winning, I'll keep playing until I lose and then I'll play one more - just to see if I can get those points back. Three wins and the weekly bonus is plenty to get there before season's end.

1 ReplyEdited by Mercury: 4/15/2019 7:15:47 PMYou will but set some rules for yourself. 1) if you lose 2 comp games in a day take a break, you will play worse when angry 2) play at certain times in the day to avoid super sweats 3) warm up a bit before going in 4) get comfortable with a subclass and loadout 5) this is optional but try stacking with friends or lfgs 6) try getting the quests done before ranking up 7) be positive Hope this helps!

1 ReplyThere is zero reason to EVER play a 3-4 stack as a solo. (At least under 2100) Watch the lobby fill up. If it's already at 4/8 or higher when you join, cancel. If it jumps by an an increment of 3 or 4 instantly, cancel. It takes more time to screen your matches but queuing against a team is WORSE than a waste of time because it's actually likely going to be negative progress. Grinding for NF is a different story. After a certain point it gets a lot harder to find a solo lobby.
-
1 ReplyI agree and that's why I didn't bother. And I'm not losing any sleep over it. I don't understand this need people have to acquire every single gun in the game. Competitive is and always has been about teams and communication. I don't have a team and I know my limitations so I stick to Quickplay for the daily and weekly rewards. It's really not complicated, imho.
-
1 ReplyDon't give up it took me a season-and-a-half to get my guns and reach fabled but it can be done. When you see a player on your team or the enemy team playing well send them an invite or message see if they might want to team up you guys might go on a 5 streak or more. Also one important lesson is after two losses take a few hours break before coming back.
-
Neither will I. Instead of getting my knickers twisted over, what, 3 or 4 guns...? Well, instead of that I go and play what I enjoy. Theres plenty of other guns in the game. 🤷♂️
-
I won’t either, but mostly because I find the comp reward system punishing for a solo player and I’m too lazy to find a team. It’s my fault and I know and accept that so.
-
Not having glory drop under earned rank would be cool and better , this way you still earn smth but can't jsut afk farm it .
-
1 ReplyAs a solo player I have to admit that I was very against the glory system when I had read up so much about it on the forums But then when I tried comp I was actually ...fine with it I’m on HEROIC 1 atm and I’m doing just fine ,Yes I loose games but from my experience the gains out way the losses by quite a large margin Not to say get good or anything but I feel a lot of players tend to blame the game before blaming their capabilities in PvP (I know I’m gonna get slack for this because of Meta ,Lag,etc but I think you get me ) I’d say take a break from comp and take PvP as you like ,Id say enjoy it and then come back stronger ,But if you want to keep grinding at comp I do sincerely hope you earn those pinnacle weapons my dude
-
Comp could definitely benefit from placement matches. At the least, not being able to drop below you’re current rank (like heroic and fabled, not heroic 1 and heroic 2).
-
Its a pinnacle, its not meant for everyone. Yes the comp system needs work but having losses not drop glory points would be terrible. If you think QP has a bunch of sweaty people using lunas in it, just imagine QP if you made comp easy and pinnacles easy to get. You would make QP even worse. By asking for pinnacles to be easy to get means you are sowing your own end to playing crucible because you're probably going to hate it. Also if you are going in to glory thinking you can use whatever you want and play the way you want may be your problem. Due to the high intensity of comp and map knowledge, games can be very fast paced and if you arent used to this play-style then you are steps behind the play.
-
2 RepliesI got to fabled and got my Luna SOLO all in the space of a few days. And I'm not an exceptional player so I'm very sure if I was able to do it you certainly can.
-
Go play valor. It's glory with 4v4 and no point decrease. What you are saying now is that you want comp to be like quikplay and that everything is handed to you just because you played. I have also reached fabled once and it was never easy. Just complaining that everything should be handed to you is ridiculous
-
Not with that attitude you won’t!
-
Well try actually putting in the time these thing don't just get handed out.
-
8 RepliesIf you win 1 then lose 1 technically you can reach fabled eventually...
-
Me neither. If they could put a floor on losing I'd try more , once you gain a tier you shouldn't go back under it.
-
1 ReplyDont worry just use a shotgun its way more op than any other weapon
