So as the title states, Reckoning is very poorly designed. It almost requires a hunter with teather and a warlock with wells. Now here's the problem with that, NOBODY EVER RUNS THOSE. Rarely ever do I get a game with somebody running either of those let alone a match with both. Secondly 99/100 I get put into games that are already in progress with only 1 or 2 other people. Yeah I know the best way to go around this is to have a premade fireteam but I'm finding it hard to get anybody to play Reckoning at the moment. Please go back to the drawing board and come up with a better plan, cause this ain't it chief.
EDIT: My problem isn't the bridge entirely, I don't know why people seem to think it is. What I'm getting at is when the entire team is using roaming supers 1 of 2 things always happen.
1. On the bridge not enough time is spent on the cap point causing a fail. People are so focused on killing ads with these supers they forget there's a cap point.
2. In the boss fight kinda the same thing happens. People are so focused on killing ads with these supers that they forget there's a boss that has to be killed too.
TLDR: Having a well keeps people alive and centered on the cap point same with teather. And in the boss fight the same principal keeps people alive, ads controlled and focus on the boss. I get all the points about titan bubbles and yes they are very useful however I just find top tree hammers to be more useful in the boss fight due to Hammerstrikes melting point. All I'm saying is there are tactics that they build into these things but what they don't seem to factor in is how a good number (not all) of the playerbase is. They play how they want to with whatever they want to and -blam!- anybody who tells them that certain things are a little better for certain things. I just think Bungie should start considering that factor when designing these things. Anybody remember Prison of Elders/Challenge of Elders from D1? You could complete those "endgame" activities with almost any loadout. I just want to see more stuff like that. That it.
-
they need to nerf nova bomb, tethers, and the well of radiance. There is not a single subclass for titans that can compete with the effectiveness of any of those supers and that isnt fair.
-
All they need to do is allow us to be able to shoot through ward of dawnand I think we could have Titan bubble act as a supplement for warlock well.
-
I can run grace and give you a chance to kill the boss faster... ...or I can go over and completely wipe out the enemy team with flames. Which do you want?

Edited by Xc_LuxZenRa: 4/13/2019 12:01:00 AMIf players stuck together as a team and revived one another it would be smoother. When you have 4 players scattered across the map...Death slowly creeps in.

Titan - helm of saint 14 works well. Or if melee regent speed is active the over shield punch works very well. There are options. Dps wise titans need a buff though. For sure for sure.

4 RepliesYou could run a bubble. I do like the way you used the caps for emphasis. I ALWAYS run Well on the bridge and a buddy of mine ALWAYS runs Tether. When you do see one of us dress wearers saving your ass with a Well... DON'T drop a bubble on top of it! Kind of -blam!-s up our rhythm.
-
I like the Reckoning and about 70% of the time i get matched up a hunter running tether and a warlock running well so saying no one ever runs those is not entirely true.
-
17 RepliesI play the mode almost exclusively as a Dawnblade running Well, and get paired with at least one Nightstalker 8/10 times. I would say about 50% of the time I also get paired with another Well.
-
1 ReplySo... Are you either bringing a well or a tether? If not, then you're half the problem.
-
Edited by reenry: 4/13/2019 1:17:43 AMWoah. It was like it almost designed to be hard and wants you give up. Also, woah. Playing with randoms is worse than an organized team, never knew.
something comp players dont understand
-
1 Replyive only ever done reckoning in a 3+ man team, with me on orpheus tether and a friend on well with lunafactions. I cant imagine trying to solo queue that lol
-
1 ReplyI always run Well and Phoenix, unless the blueberry is already set up with that. Then and only then do I switch it up.
-
99 waves. Survive. No timers. Perma death.
-
Almost hate Reckoning because as a Warlock every fkn time have to use Well. It is boring af , but necessary to farm this shit for weapons (dont care about armor) And people, remember, on the last stage kill mobs too, from my Well.
-
So you said that players being blind and lacking awareness to the obvious objective means that reckoning is poorly designed?
-
Another problem with the bridge is the yellow bar ads and the STUPID -blam!-ING STOMP MECHANIC that shoots everyone 100 yards backwards and 100 yards in the air ON A -blam!-ING BRIDGE!! Combine that stupid -blam!-ing stomp mechanic with blackout and I'll play division 2 until reset.
-
Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 4/13/2019 2:22:34 PMIts just another example of how rigid the game is. Sure, Reckoning CAN be completed with basically any combination of subclasses and gear, but when it’s WAY easier with a specific set of course that all anyone is ever going to run. Even the PvE has too strict of a meta. They put so much into making things so specific that people end up almost having to play a certain way. Being told exactly what and how to play has been slowly eating away at my enjoyment of the game for quite some time now.

6 RepliesMy life would be much easier if I would ever get a phoenix protocol. Since I can't and play solo, it's almost a forgone conclusion of failure of I don't match with a tether or another warlock who's running Nova bomb and skull.
-
2 RepliesThis community is full of scrubs. Matchmaking is broken. That's the real problem. Titans need to run bubble. Took me an hr to find a group through matchmaking to complete tier 3 one time.
-
no its not maybe consider learning how to play a horde mode
-
1 ReplyIt's very well designed. Three varying stages, minor mechanics, time pressure and decent rewards. I really enjoy it, equally so on all three characters. The problem is with a lot of the people playing it. So much stupid. Also the matchmaking, start up timing etc really needs a rethink.
-
No well = solo hell. I just automatically back out if I'm not playing on a warlock running a well or if none of the other 3 people are. Sadly it's that much more efficient than trying to push through and inevitably getting at least one wipe
-
I can't seem to beat tier 3 anymore. That is without heavy weight.
-
I have no problem getting past the bridge, its that tanky boss that I keep wiping on. It will end up being most people wont play untill heavyweight is on. I think if blackout is on , the boss should have less health or somthing. (I do not have 1000 voices somdont suggest it - at least not to me anyway)
-
What's wrong with stomps? What's the reckoning? Don't you mean stomp mechanic simulator 2019?
