To be true, everything I've read was asking for removing cores from infusion only, never saw anything asking to remove them from masterworking.

The infusion I could understand but at the same time the cores could just be made as the final step in masterworking weapons and armor. It would also be nice if when you reroll the masterwork you got to choose what masterwork you wanted to have on the weapons that right there would have an impactful feeling for masterworking gear.
