Call bullshit.
Other than the claim you only masterworked one item, and didn’t infuse anything.
You do realize that we can see your account and everything you played.
There is no way playing the activities your profile lists that you generated 60 cores from in game drops. Not even if every drop dismantled into a core and every strike and lost sector you ran gave you a core.

If you're not using glimmer to infuse everything except exotics and pinnacle weapons you're doing it wrong. Also there is literally only 1 activity in the entire game which requires a light level above 650 and that is T2+ reckoning. If you are not doing reckoning then there is zero reason to rush infusing below 700. Even then, assuming you need to use enhancement cores to level up usable gear quickly, it should be a 2 stage process. Infuse at 680ish to do T3 reckoning, then don't infuse again until 700. Again, using glimmer as often as possible. Also you can tell which items will drop an enhancement core upon dismantling, for armor I believe it's level 4, and using those for infusion is essentially wasting another core. So for example: say you have a level 695 reverie dawn helmet you you really like. Then you get a 700 reverie dawn helmet that is trash but at level 4. You can use glimer to infuse into the good helmet of course. However if you just wait until you get another trash 700 helmet that is level 1-3, use that for glimmer infusion and dismantle the level 4 helmet, you get a free enhancement core. Sure you may have to wait a little longer to have your favorite piece maxed out, but there would be literally zero noticable difference between a 695 and 700 light level piece of armor amyway. So you're not sacraficing any gameplayability and you are more effectively managing and acquiring cores. I'm not saying I'm a proponent of enhancement cores, but there is clearly a misunderstanding of how powerful drops work and how to manage infusion in this community. A friend of mine thought he had to have his highest gear equipped to get powerful drops and was constantly torching cores to the point of having none. I told him a few weeks ago that you don't need to have your highest gear equipped for powerful drops, just in inventory/vault, and he now has enhancement cores coming out of his ears because he isn't feeling forced to constantly infuse. Because he now understands how the game works, he no longer has to run spider bounties and the game is much more enjoyable for him. And this is a part time player with only one character.

I care less what you call. It’s 100% a fact. I did infuse a few items, same items to same items. I don’t use, almost never, cores for infusing. When I get an exotic drop, I dump it down also. I get my Forge gun upgrades from doing their powerful bounties from ada. Same for my Duke, from vanguard. Same for all of Petra’s weekly Dreaming City stuff. I wear armor that is mismatched until I’m 700, and the all my multiple, fully masterworked, armor builds will be same item to same item infused as they are all enhanced Reverie armor. Doesn’t surprise me you don’t believe it, but it is EXACTLY my experience. If a snake bit you, you would still deny it. I have 80 cores on me, none anywhere else. I’ve masterworked one weapon. Bungie didn’t automatically drop 100 cores in my postmaster. I had 563. You saw them, you called me a hoarder. Now, I don’t have them and I’ve progressed just fine.

Edited by TheArtist: 4/9/2019 7:01:30 PM
I care less what you call
Which is why I'm about to make you look either foolish....or like a liar. Your choice. Because you made the mistake of making that claim about a content loop that almost all of us have personal experience with routinely running. So I know for a 100% fact that the loop you are claiming is not capble of generating cores at the rate you claim. Lets do the math. From a point of view that is IDEALLY suited to your claim...... 1. Three characters 6 Spider bounties per character? 18 cores. 2. Three core purchases per day for your acccount @ 70 shards per day.....so a total of 490 legendary shards for the week. 21 cores. 3. Vanguard loyalty packages (assuming all three characters sided with the Vanguard) 9 cores. 4. Clan reward packages 3 cores. That's 51 cores...and that's only assuming you were willing to blow almost 500 legendary shards for the week (unsustainable over the long term) AND you leveraged EVERY source of guarenteed cores in the game. Every OTHER source from here on out is pure RNG. Or otherwise unreliable. Which means YOU need to come up with another FORTY-NINE cores, which----if you were being straight with us----you would have only been able to get from breaking down gear drops, doing scrapper bounties, and using Matterweave power-ups. Since you didn't do any raids, and only played a few rounds of Gambit Prime, odds are you didn't get any fully MW'ed drops to dismantle. Scrapper bounties and cores from gear dismantles are all low-probability events. So you have'd to be dismantling dozens of drops per day to get the seven ADDITIONAL cores you'd need each day to verify your claim. Unlikely. But what you FAILED to mention is that you played TWENTY-FIVE Crucible matches on your Titan that week. Which is FAR in excess of the FIVE you need to complete the Milestone. So what I believe is that most of those cores you claimed to have gotten jsut "running Milestones" acdtually came from reward packages you recieved grinding Valor ranking. Even if I grant you (not earned or deserved) the benefit-of-the-doubt that this jsut "slipped your mind"....that is still unlikely to produce cores in the amount you claim. But since I'm in a GENEROUS mood today, lets just assume you got REALLY LUCKY----Vegas hot-streak lucky----and you actually did generate those 100 cores that week. You have three characters. Eight gear slots per character and 2 cores per infusion. That's only enough cores to infuse TWO loadouts for each of your charcters..... ONE time. ...and then those 100 cores are gone....and you need to start ALL OVER again.

The crucible matches were ALL played last night, for advancing the last word exotic quest. I’ve done none of the exotic quest crucible and they are starting to back up. I also told you that I began on Monday, 4/1/2019, the day before the reset of the 4/2/2019. Those were my numbers of cores received from 4/1/2019 until right before the weekly reset of 4/9/2019. I know maths can be hard but you may want to pay attention to how many attempts at Wanted bounties a full week will offer. That’s TWO full sets, if those seven day’s fall on anything other than reset Tuesday. I don’t raid anymore and am only forcing myself into Gambit Prime to get to the Reckoning Tier 3. It has to be done. Before you call someone a liar, YOU need to do better “homework”. How many times do I have to tell you: . I DONT USE CORES FOR INFUSION . Almost never! Why would anybody? I get my gear for upgrades when I get them, from those activities. Every week I switch to a specific loadout for that singe, including The Reckoning.

Edited by TheArtist: 4/9/2019 8:09:18 PMThen you lied by omission. ...and the math STILL doesn't add up. Because you left out the very critical detail that you took advantage of TWO weeks worth of opportunities at the game's primary source of guarenteed cores. While strongly implying you proceeded through one normal weeks worth of game play...and that everyone should be able to (easily) replicate your results. Why would people use cores for infusion? Simple. Because SOME OF US want the freedom to play the builds we've created....and to LOCK IN the powers that we've earned. Which is why INFUSION was added to this game in the first f-ing place. Because every OTHER game in this genre allows you to do this. Either because those powers are unlocked on a skill tree, and are yours to keep permanently, or ----if they are pushed off onto gear----other means are taken to prevent the player from LOSING powers already gained. Just becuase YOU choose the play this game in a more narrow and limited way doesnt' mean the rest of us should be forced to do it. ESPECIALLY since no other loot-based RPG int he last 20 years did anything like this. I'm going to be blunt to the point of rudness here. Anyone who defends this system is DEFINITIONALLY demonstrating that they have NO IDEA how these games are supposed to work. Because Bungie is doing the exact OPPOSITE of what every other SUCCESSFUL example in this genre has done with its progression system.

There was no omission, I used that day as the initializing day bc that’s where my consumable cores were reduced to zero and that’s when I started collecting them again. It was the day I began playing from zero. It is exactly what I told you and another forumite, one very senior, I would do when I returned. I was very clear. I’m neither defending nor advocating for cores. I’ve said a million times that I didn’t understand why cores were placed into infusion to begin with. I also have stated unequivocally and dozens of times I use cores for masterworking gear, almost exclusively. I play to get my upgrades. Every now and then I need to use cores as infusion fodder, but it’s the exception, not the rule. 1) Fact, I deleted my 563 cores. As you stated: “it would be educational”. It has been, but not to your point of view’s benefit. 2) Fact, I moved from 672 my highest on 4/1/2019 to 699 before reset on 4/9/2019, now my highest while simultaneously masterworking my really nicely rolled Blast Furnace AND collecting cores for later masterworking, or any later necessary infusings. I now have 87, up from 80 before reset and I still haven’t done one wanted bounty yet. Nothing more than the three purchases and dismantling gear/scrappers from milestones, and only on one character so far. Neither advocating for their removal, nor defending their place in the game, but I don’t see it as overly onerous. I can only state my experience. But, I won’t be silenced or told I should have no voice in this argument bc I had cores as I was previously told. Now, I have almost 500 less than before. And still, ppl are trying to shut up mine and other points of view on this. There are two sides to every story, I can only tell mine, and I will.
every other SUCCESSFUL example in this genre
1) Define successful? Bungie seems to be doing ok. You and I, among others, are still buying their products AND playing regularly. Bungie has enough free cash to give ATVI back $165 million USD of its’ advance! We’re far better off than Curse time frame, from a metrics analysis standpoint. Could the game be more popular? Sure, but frankly it amazes me the current numbers of guardians still grinding 7+ month old content for milestones. 2) What genre is this? I’m pretty sure even Bungie has stated this is a hybrid, if you want it to be an mmo, then play it that way, same for rpg, looter, etc... The only thing for sure I know is this is a first person shooter and it’s a shared and persistent world. Everything else is debatable, and depends on how you want to play the game. THAT is why there are so many varying and divergent views on what would advance this game. That is healthy for this game, ALL of those viewpoints being delivered. Not just yours, and those of a like mind.

Edited by TheArtist: 4/9/2019 9:37:47 PM1. Dude just stop. Trying to defend the indefensible just pisses people off. You were misleading, and I'm not naive enough to believe that it was unintentional. The math also still doesn't add up. 2. Successful? Diablo, Diablo 2, Diablo 3. Sacred. Sacred 2. Borderlands, Borderlands 2. The Division. The Division 2. Warframe. Need I go on, or have I made my point yet? 3. What genre? Loot-based RPGs. 4. The fact that the game is a hybrid means you get to BEND the rules that determine how they work. That doesn't mean you get to break them or ignore them. NOR DOES IT EXCUSE YOU FROM **KNOWING** WHAT THOSE RULES ARE...SO THAT YOU CAN BEND THEM INTELLIGENTLY. Fact is that Bungie doesn't know those rules...and doesnt' feel obliged to learn them. So they "break" the rules in ways that don't make sense....don't improve the game...and FRUSTRATE players rather than "suprise and delight" them. 5. Explain to me in DETAIL exactly how limiting infusion improves the player experience in this game. (Sits down and grabs popcorn). This should be interesting.....

My core story is exactly that. It’s my experience. You wouldn’t think it’s true even if you were sitting on my shoulder watching me do it. I did EXACTLY what I told you I would do, and I had NO issues with the economy as a result. And now, we’re back to only one proper way of game design, the one as KG sees fit. Which, frankly, I’m not buying it. This game has ALWAYS had some form of limiting progression, always, over years. Differing ppl like differing things but I’ve never met a person who enjoyed doing nothing more than running a loop on a planet for planetary mats for upgrades. Nor did I meet a person who was ecstatic about having etheric light and the ascension process. Bungie made changes with these, among other things, over a period of time, and the game became better bc of it. No different now. I’m a mature adult, over the age of 50, this isn’t The Big Lebowski, and I assure you I’m not a stoner. Very proud of it, also!

And the math still doesn’t add up.

Sure it does. I haven’t done one wanted bounty on any of my three characters yet. I have 89 cores now, with two additional scrapper non completed, and just received, bounties on my warlock to do. That will be 91 when those scrapper bounties are completed. I started the post reset day off with exactly 80, almost 6 hours ago. 11 additional isn’t half bad for a handful of hours playing. I’m trying to spam my game time in now bc Wednesday night is “Wine Down Wednesday” for me and my better half, and I’ll travel the half hour to her place this weekend. I NEVER multitask when she’s in the mix, when I’m with her, I’m with her, the game is always second place to family, Always. That’s just my history, not saying it’s anybody else’s. And I’ve got two more characters to start on my milestones with also. And I fully expect to get similar drops. Who knows, maybe I have the world’s MOST awesome rng core drops in the world, I can’t compare it to anything else. I just know my history. That’s it.
