I don't know about all that, but I'd surely like Remove Enhancement Cores posts removes from the forum. At this point, we all know what the issue is and what everyone feels about it.

Clearly Bungie isn’t on the same page. As usual.

They're not, and I don't expect them to be...because they aren't the consumer, they are the producer. There were reasons why the core system became what it did, like expanding game time needed for progress, attempting to make some activities that were abandoned become more relevant, etc. And they invested a decent chunk of time and money in developing it, certainly. Now the issue isn't that they don't know or get it: there's no way this hasn't been the biggest UX issue for months at this point. The big problem is that they are a business with investors or financial partners. So let's say they spent $250,000 designing and launching this code; not unrealistic. They know we hate it, and that it needs to go: they just can't do it right away. Because if they do, they have to go back to the financial powers that be, and explain how they took a quarter of a million dollars, piled it up in the parking lot, lit it on fire, and roasted hot dogs over it. Functionally, Bungie is in a position of trying every low-cost, low-effort option they can find before scrapping the system entirely, including turning the core system into a different but valuable system. If they don't, there is a massive resource loss that has to be justified, and no one wants to have to do it. It's not that cores won't eventually be removed, it's that they will have to toss a bunch of crap at us to 'try and fix the problem' before they do. otherwise, they will have a black mark on their resource management that they would have to disclose to future investors. Long-winded, but hopefully, that makes some sense.

I’d say the “massive resource” loss is shown every day with diminishing player numbers. They wasted 250k, as you suggested, on a decision they made. It’s not the players or consumers fault that Bungie is ignorant of what the consumer base wanted. And it’s not our fault that they didn’t learn from 3 years of trial and error and released a pile of crap 9/2017. Bungie dug their own hole, the consumer base/player base shouldn’t suffer because Bungie lacks common sense.
-
But it will, because that's how this works.

Which is why I’d wish that common sense wasn’t such a scarce resource in humanity. Bungie might’ve created the game but it lives or dies by the consumer base. Unfortunately the consumer base has been so splintered because of Bungie for so long that I doubt this would ever occur. Do you realize how much bickering has taken place due to just the combined sandboxes? What do you think would’ve happened if in 2014 Bungie came out and separated the two from the start. There never would’ve been “I hate pvp, _____ was nerfed in PvE because of them” and vice versa. The community has been going back and forth at each other because of this one damn thing for 5 years. If Bungie didn’t keep us fighting each other then we’d be together fighting Bungie and they don’t want that. Much better to leave the children fighting amongst each other than coming together to face the problems with the game head on against Bungie.
