I'm back with more complaints! Because I found this Feedback board and I'm damn-well gonna use it.
So I got banned from Competitive (trying to get the Thorn, which is already a Thorn in my arse) because I left a match. Here's the context;
I was with three randoms, pitted against a clan of 3 and a random. Their clan completely annihilated my team because of the clan bonuses.
Whatever, I sat through the entire match and had my arse handed to me. Simple. So I searched again...
Same allies, same enemies. By the time I actually spawned, my team was three lives down because they seem to think "Grenade" means "Shove your face on it".
So I left, who wouldn't? The match provided no bonuses to me or my "allies".
Then Shaxx comes out like "Whoa whoa! That's unfair!" and bans me (I like how it doesn't tell you how long you're banned for; real smooth Bungie. BRINK did that for God sake). This was the first match I abandoned after twenty on the trot completed.
I understand trying to dissuade players from leaving but the game should calculate your chances based on your other games against said team. If your chances are below 30% or something, the game should let you leave without instance. Or at the least WARN YOU if you're about to be banned.
Honestly I'm writing this while waiting for my ban to wear off so I can try to get this Godforsaken weapon done, since doing it in Quickplay gives you 1% for every five kills. Or at least, it feels like it.
Not the first instance of an unfair ban and it won't be the last. Oh and also; how about preventing people from joining games against people they played with recently? Blacklisting the enemy if they win, because you clearly got overwhelmed. Again, lesser games have done this since the dawn of online gaming.
Can't wait for Bungie to completely ignore everything their community wants in the next "update", which I'm sure will just be entirely focussed on Raids.

I never went into comp for it.. Just quickplay and got it in the day.

5 RepliesYou don't get banned permanently for leaving matches. Did you get banned permanently?

1 ReplyYeah you don't get banned permanently, but stop being a quitter. You don't need to win any matches for thorn. Just get kills. That's it.

6 Replies1.) getting kills with a void hand cannon in quick play are very effective for the quest. You choosing to use competitive for that quest is a you problem. 2.) light level doesn’t matter in competitive so clan bonus engrams don’t matter. The only positive they have is probably talking to each other which doesn’t effect your shooting abilities which is your objective. 3.) Bungie’s has stated how long each duration of bans for leaving matches is. 4.) seeing as you just wanted kills you shouldn’t care about your teammates doing poorly as you only need kills for the Thorn quest. 5.) a ban for quoting games early is the definition of a justified ban.
