I hit 700 this week and was excited to go into a Reckoning Tier 3 run for the week with a friend. I managed to get 4 pieces of Tier 3 Reaper. And hey, I'm close to finishing the weekly for the Helm. Great! Really enjoying the set glow and everything.
Finish the bounty and got a Tier 1 Reaper helm. Why am I required to do the highest motes I can and "win" the reckoning 4 times to get low tier gear? That doesn't make sense to me. For that effort I put in for a weekly I expect a tier of helm at the tier I did the weekly reckoning wins.
I won't be doing this bounty again, it's pointless. I am already 700 power and have easier routes for powerful engrams and in addition to that a chance at a tier 3 helm isn't worth it when I can just go play the reckoning and get it anyway.
Especially burns after a sour night in Gambit Prime going 1-3 with the last of those being me coming in as a back fill where the enemy team had already spawned a primeval. All excitement about my set lost.

2 RepliesIt is based on completions. The first time you do it,.you get tier 1, then the second time , it's tier 2, finally tier 3 on the third. It works that way for each set too...so you need to do 12 helmet bounties to get all 4 tier 3 helmets. It's another "extend the grind" feature I believe.
