It doesn't hurt, it's just unnecessary, imo. I actually enjoyed D1 PVP even though I'm not very good. It was still fun. Once Bungie started messing around with special ammo, it hasn't been nearly as fun since. I was able to somewhat hang with fusion rifles because I had special ammo, back then. D2 PVP is just terrible, imo. I don't like how heavy ammo is given to us, I don't like how everything was designed for 4v4, etc. If D3 brought back the feeling of D1 PVP before they started nerfing everything into the ground, I'd like it to stay. But trying to "balance" PVP just means "removing fun" from PVP, imo.
