So the rumor has it that you won't have Crucible in Destiny 3, but instead, you'll have open world PvP?
If that is true, PLEASE DO NOT FORCE PvE players to participate for reasons like main story line completion or unlocking subclasses. Make an option to allow people to participate or not. Like the "War Mode" in World of Warcraft or the "Dark Zone" in Division 2 (don't make Division 1's mistake of forcing PvE players into open PvP like that, it won't work and cause you to lose players)
Please DO UNDERSTAND that open world PvP will require a dedicated someone (preferebly a competent team) to constantly address balance changes QUICKLY since Meta's will form that will absolutely dominate against people who can't participate by virtue of your game's mechanics. You think your community is salty and raging about things now? Wait until you take away the structure of PvP Arenas like Crucible and allow Super Powered beings with guns and explosives to roam free-style in an open area to gank/harass/GRIEF anyone. Unless your dev team has some sadistic psycho(s) who enjoy a fairly lawless & unfair/unfun area of gameplay. I think you'll only hurting yourself in the end if you cater to a handful of those kind of *hardcore* players.

1 ReplyIf they do open world PvP then it’ll most likely be worse than the Division’s Darkzone and this it would end up being a disappointment. Giving up crucible for an open world PvEvP would suck, and would essentially result in almost half of the community leaving. I play Destiny because it’s the closest thing to the Bungie Halos on PS4. With PvP gone I probably won’t buy the game unless the story and PvE are so stunningly amazing that everyone rates it a 10/10. That’s me being generous, most of the people I know and people I have spoken to about this said they wouldn’t even give the game a chance. I don’t blame them either, running strikes all day would get very boring very fast. It’ll be cool for the first month but 2-3 months in the game will be dead.

1 ReplyNo one is forced to play anything.
-
Let’s not even include a duel mechanic and just let us grief the hell out of each other so no one can get anything done in pve lol
-
3 RepliesIt’s pvp that is causing the problems in this game ...... if bungie does decide to get rid of pvp I very much doubt that they would include it into pve due to all the problems it has caused
-
Imo this is just some of the dumbest bs I've someone come up about this game. Not to mention that if bungie actually do this mixed pve/pvp zones, the amount of rage from the pve dudes being killed left and right will fuuny as hell. I think he still gona have the crucible in the game too even if they add this future to future expansion or game.

The last thing Destiny needs is open world PvP or dark zones. They should keep it Seperate.

2 RepliesOpen world pvp would be terrible, anyone ever play gta 5 online?!
-
if scumgie implement this i hope they implement it like Bethesda has with the pvp in the adventure mode for fallout 76(yes i know fallout 76 isn't perfect) what bethesda have done is if you shoot another player no damage is done until the player who was shot shoots back then pvp is engaged.

Hey, so please don’t put rumors like this in titles. Thanks. And they are rumors. Not even proven to be true.

Well said. Would quickly become a feeding ground for CHEATRRS! LagSwitchers, Cronus stick using mod cheats!. Bad idea! I don't think bungei would police their game and Catch and ban cheaters. Most streamers cheat to show their viewers that hey look how great I am. Would become a Sh*t fest! PS. Why on God's green earth would Sony make it possible to hook up a mouse and keyboard to a PS4. Point and click Vs a controller. Such BS!

People complaining is an issue now, but it would be so much worse if they did this. Heck, the reason I do patrols so much is because it’s how I take breaks from crucible and gambits. That way I don’t turn into a complaining jerk on these forums. Don’t take that away from me.

Just go the route of games like WoW, Rift, and SWTOR and give us a PVP server where you’re always flagged for PVP and a PVE server where you have the option to flag if you so choose. That way the people attracted to gankboxes can have it and those of us that want to avoid PvP can do so also and you’ll have more players. They’re much more likely to attract players by having options and more options is always good.

1 ReplyIf this is true this means bungie didn't learn a damn thing and is moving into a pay to play style game like Neverwinter? My crap - dar is going off, and now I wonder if D3 will be a freemium style game? If so bye bye bungie

1 ReplyRemove PvE!

First of all the bread and butter for destiny is grinding for weapons and using them in crucible. Most, NOT ALL, of the perks work better IN PVP. You want the power of your weapons back, people NEED TO STOP CRYING when they are getting pub stomped in QUICK PLAY. All the people crying are the reason why the weapons are getting nerfed. If anything, PvP will always be an issue because there is a skill gap between players. You can’t get mad when other players are just naturally talented or been playing pc for years. I’m not an elite by any means. But if y’all keep crying, YALL will be the reason why the game is garbage.
pvp is at its best when left to do its own thing, D3 will have pvp but the game and its content wont be balanced around it, bungie will be to focused on the pve

Open world PVE/PVP has it's merits. ESO (I didn't play it), but I believe they did something similar. They had an area in the centre that allowed for a PVP world. The dark zone in the division (I only played division 1) had areas that were PVE and then a common PVP/PVE environment. Both of these examples fits Destiny's shared world shooter enviroment. I don't think removing PVP is wise, but adding in a dark zone where you can go rouge does add an element that could work. It depends on how it is implemented, what rewards are at stake, etc. Let's take my public event for example. If you pledge light you spawn in the light public event space, dark the dark space. Both are the same. When a public even occurs the invasion portals open. So you can invade during the event (which is like 3 minutes), or stop the vex. If you invade it's full PVP for 60 seconds with a 30 second re-spawn if you die. Your are completing weekly bounties for powerful gear for completing your event and preventing the other team from doing so. This would make patrol and public events much more of an end game activity than what it is now, an excuse to farm the flash point for powerful gear and resources. There could be other activities you could introduce too. I don't think a full removal of PVP is wise, it takes too much away from the game. To your point the live team would need to be a lot more actively involved in maintaining balance, but this has potential to make the game better.

1 ReplyEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 4/1/2019 11:23:34 PMIf they do this and it’s required for the story, as in not optional, my Destiny adventure will end with D2. Even if it is optional regularly, I bet there would be exotic/other quests that require it. So it’ll cause the same divisiveness of D1/D2 but in a different way.
