Why so much hype over D1 weapons in D2?
Edit: Thanks for the comments. Lots of very good responses from nostalgia to new gamers to the destiny franchise. I'm certainly not saying it is a bad move for some exotics to make a return but I will say I am not fond of hyping paid releases using existing exotics, granted they have been tweaked somewhat. I also guarantee I'm not the only one exhausted by all these hand cannons.
If I had a hand in developing D2, I'd have made a point of bringing D1 exotics forward with a more believable story like.. Ikora found a way to sift through the ashes of the tower and find our exotic kiosk blueprints.. she's working hard with the vanguard and the gunsmith to piece them together.

I don't get it, why are people getting excited for returning weapons from another game?
I agree they were great weapons, but we've been there and done that. Why not make new and better weapons instead?
28% of D2 exotic weapons are from D1(14 of the current 50) and now we learn of Hawkmoon and Darkdrinker as well?

So, players yearn for that old gear back. I suppose they are hoping the loot will feel as powerful as the gear in D1. It won't. Everything is watered down to fit the D2 scheme.

Master Chief played with the same guns for 5 games straight. I don’t mind them bringing exotics back, I just don’t like how they parade them and act like you are getting something new. Just throw them in the loot pool and continue to make a new exotics.

Players enjoyed those items, and they get to continue enjoying them in the current game environments.

Because most of the remaining players have seen what bungie makes these days and no longer have any faith in the potential “new”. D1 was and always will be THE destiny game. A lot of players that were new going into D2 wouldn’t (obviously) feel that way but there are not many of those players still around.

Im fine with d1 exotics returning but id be more onboard if it was like a 3 to 1 ratio, like 3 new exotics for every 1 old returning exotics.

I'm still wondering why they broke up the PvP exotic Holy Trinity. They gave us Ophidian Aspect but left Bones of Eao and Twilight Garrison behind???

Idk why people are bitching about D1 exotics coming back, Bungie did post a poll asking the community if they want D1 exotics back and most of the community wanted them back at the time. The only issue I have about D1 exotics coming back is that they need to calm down on bringing them back.
