Account Banned due to VPN (Please someone within Bungie Networking/Systems help me out)
Hello,
I logged in tonight noticing I was banned, account ban at that. Really confused by this, as I've never had restrictions, been here since launch, so again just perplexed because I didn't know VPNs were able to get you banned.. I just need someone to review what triggered the ban. I literally started utilizing WTFast VPN builtin in to my router, I began using it Wednesday. Other than that, nothing else intrusive runs on this device.
I can understand that if my IP is changing why there would be a ban, I wasn't aware this would have caused a ban, I know I'll get a community manager stating "Typically, pc bans are due to software detected by Destiny 2 while running", but if anyone browsing the forums that is with support, please help me out here. If someone can just review within their network team that would be fantastic.
High-light of my gaming night is jumping on and just chilling out with my friends in Destiny so again, if anyone can just glance over this, please help.

16 RepliesUse of a VPN by itself would not get you a ban as long as you were not doing anything shady with it. Typically, pc bans are due to software detected by Destiny 2 while running. These include but not limited to, trainers, aimbots, autofire, mods, graphics hacks, anything that injects code into games, debuggers for programing, even some viruses. any of these could cause a ban, [b]even if not destiny 2 specific[/b] [b]Bungie does not discuss restrictions or bans.[/b] [b]Restrictions are temporary, and will not be overturned or undone before they expire. Once an account is banned however, that ban is permanent. Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason.
