I had this problem. Then i had this crazy idea to use the fireteam finder and a couple trys later i had thorn.

Or just use the app/website you made this post on and find a team. You don't even need a mic

go to the farm and hang out for a few and wait for someone to text chat looking for a fire team or text chat asking for yourself. you’ll see the people who are ready for the strike because they will be the 650 guys and not the 200 blueberries. took me like 5 minutes to get several offers.; it will take longer now probably because the quest has been out for a couple weeks. don’t instantly melt the shrieker in the last room because there are two hive knights you have to kill in the third phase after you kill the ogres. if you melt her instantly afterthe ogres die you’ll have to run it again

Get a friend or two - ask someone in the tower - send someone a message after you finish a strike - use LFG. You can do it solo - there are videos on YouTube showing that, but it's not for the faint of heart. Got mine last night. Did the Chasm of Screams strike with 2 clan mates. It wasn't that bad with the right supers and weapons.

Boo hoo, it's difficult yes but not impossible solo. Also, just lfg a team and get it done. You don't even have to talk!

Like I said the only reason I have not been playing is because I don't see a reason to. I could easily hit 700 next season with those new surge bounties or there's a chance the sprained event might even give us a max power weapon then I can use that as an anchor to level up quicker. if I was playing I guarantee you I wouldn't be struggling to get the thorn. like I said I got both versions of the thorn in D1 where it was heavily PVP based. Of course back then you could use your super to get credit for your void kills if you used a void super. Especially for the new revamp strike I guarantee you I wouldn't struggle. When D2 first came out I actually did prestige nightfalls on a weekly basis on all three characters including with blackout before they nerfed it.... Honestly if you run with all warlocks with Luna boots along with your well of radiance you can easily do the strike without dying. Also play smart take your time. Like I said I don't know how old are you are but in my experience usually kids Rush that much in a video game specially in Destiny. since they are not old enough to understand those kind of concepts that it's better to take your time. Also if you struggle with the boss the best simple thing to do is kill the ogres pop a well of radiance keep the hive away from your team and just play smart stay away from the boss time your shots. Strategize don't be an idiot. Find out what you are struggling with and improve on that. I mean if I was able to do this as a prestige nightfall at the beginning of Destiny 2 with blackout you could easily do this. also make sure you are the requirement power level please that's a big factor why you might be messing up. Which could be another factor why nobody wants to play with you. Also look at your exotics find a good build for whatever character you want to use. Practice on the regular version of the strike figure out what you are doing wrong and improve yourself. Complaining about it is not going to help you. example when I was struggling with the last word PVP aspect I didn't complain I made a strategy I decided to do PVP but if I notice any cheating or hacking I would leave the match and try to maintain my percentage 10% each match. Yes it wasn't easy but it had to be done it took me almost a whole day and a whole night but it was worth it. Deep down I believe in myself that I can do it you have to do the same believe in yourself.

Also you know people said that as well for the last word. In terms of the PVP aspect as well as the final step where you have to know how to use the last word. I am a solo player and I have the last word. Hell I even have the malfeasance. Even YouTubers sometimes suck at video games. Plenty of times I ran into YouTubers in Destiny and in Anthem and they didn't know what the f*** they are doing. Just because someone is professional does not make them an actual professional. Just like how if you are a developer like for BioWare for example that does not mean you know what to do. Example look what happens everytime they make an update they break the game. that's just one example just because you are a professional at what you do does not mean you know what you are doing. YouTubers are not gods they are regular people just like you and me. They struggle. They have to get better at what they do as a content creator. Just like you and me. frankly how old are you because only kids would talk this much about YouTubers saying that a quest is YouTuber based...

Yeah I had to reread your post. I agree the final step is difficult but it's doable. It doesn't involve PVP. It involves you doing a challenging nightfall strike with difficult modifiers. Maybe because you can't do it is because you're not used to doing high-level PVE activities. Someone like myself who does PVE on a daily basis that strike is not a challenge. I'm not a YouTuber I'm not a professional gamer I'm just a regular guy. You just need a very good coordinated team. Also keep in mind when you do modifiers that has blackout take your -blam!-en time. that always happens even with heroic strikes when the modifier blackout is active people just try to rush through it that's how they f******. people need to understand it's better to take your time and get a right than rush and look like a dumbass. I even notice the same behavior in Anthem. Example players know the little adds in a stronghold has a slight higher chance to give you legendaries, but players don't kill them they just rushed through the stronghold like a moron on speed. Of course I'm not doing the quest because I don't feel passion enough to play Destiny 2. I would rather wait until the next season for the next DLC. Frankly because Jokers Wild is a f****** joke no pun intended. It's just a glorified Gambit update. Even though Cosmo of Bungie told us the dlc will have other activities other than Gambit. That was a big lie.

I'm solo a player I got thorn both times in D1. Back then deaths hurt your progress. It was never hard. D2 quest version is easy in terms of PVP. The strike version for it looks insane.
