You simply dont need to infuse that much during levelling.
I used all my favourite gear while levelling. I didn't infuse, I kept it at 650. Why? Because none of the content other than the Reckoning requires a high light level. I then infuse when 700. Blues and legendary gear I don't like stays in my inventory until I get a higher drop. If I drop a piece of gear I already have then I infuse for 5000 glimmer.
I get to play with my favourite gear while levelling and I don't use many cores. Quite simple really.
Also the cores I accumulate while levelling can be used to infuse well rolled gear from the new content and masterwork special items once I've hit max light.

So basically, removing cores from infusion won't affect you at all. In fact it will make it easier for you and allow you to spend more of those saved cores on masterworking items. So how is it a bad thing if they were to be removed. Would the change affect you negatively at all?

If you enjoy being limited, more power to you. I don't. I like playing the way I want to play. I usually like going into activities at higher levels using the gear I want to use. This system frowns on that.

It's not limiting. There's no difference between 650 and 700 for most of the content in the game. If you insist on infusing everything all the time, that's your problem.

And your argument is you want your best stuff to stay your best stuff at all times. Dropping 6-7 light levels won’t affect you whatsoever. There’s no problem with the system other than the fact that it should always be 2 cores

What’s stopping you from playing the way you want to? 3 light levels? Putting on a weapon you’ve never used wont harm you, and putting on your favorite gun won’t either because if it’s your favorite gun it will be close to your highest light in that slot anyways.

I do too. But I have a ton of different gear so only infusing like items has no impact on me. This season was even easier since there was no raid to grind towards. Only thing light matters in this season is reckoning and iron banner. Not using cores didnt limit my load out at all
