We have too many currencies in this game

As the title has said, I think we have too many currencies in this game. One for each planetary vendor, crucible and vanguard tokens, dark fragments, ghost fragments, modulus reports, mod components, ballistics logs, eververse bounty notes, black armory schematics, tinctures, prime synths, gunsmith materials, rasputin armory codes, decrypted cache keys, and of course, the current hot topic, masterwork cores. This just leads to a more cluttered consumable tab, and makes things more complicated than they need to be. Basically every vendor has their own currency. And dont get me started on having caps for these currencies (ghost fragments, I'm looking at you). I think bounties, no matter what kind, should be bought with glimmer. One material per planet is fine, get rid of eververse bounty notes and ghost shell fragments (again, bounties are bought with glimmer) and remove the black armour schematics allowing black armory mods to be bought for mod components like banshee. Dark fragments are ok, because you can buy blind well charges with them.

  • Remember in D1 when the combined Vanguard Makrs and Crucible Marks into Legendary Marks because there were 'too many currencies' Lololol fun times....

        What if....the planet vendors act as a bank that we can access anywhere? They hold the resources for us and we spend them wherever, whenever. Boom, more inventory space! Here I have an example. Spider can hold [i]all the cores.[/i] cause they aren't [i][b][u]going anywhere.[/u][/b][/i].

      • I couldn't agree more. This became so apparent when trying to introduce a new player to the game. Day 1 players saw that build up over time. But if you are brand new, it is so much to take in it's almost comical.

        • Because there is no cohesive design ethic to the game. The game is built one "episode" at a time....not as an integrated world.

        • Bungie are just plain incompetent at this point you may be better off directing your feedback towards someone like Unknown-player or Datto or the likes. Maybe just slip in a D2 feedback request amongst the video replies for example ;)

              • Agreed. They need to increase the glimmer cap, make it drop more, and use it as a replacement for some of this stuff. A lot of it seems like a lame attempt to have us grind for something that we have to use to have access to something else. Ghost fragments and modulus reports are prime examples of this. They could easily be replaced by glimmer.

                • Agreed. It is absurd. D1 started out the same way then ratlionlised a lot of them into Legendary Tokens/Shards/Whatever. D2 has reversed that trend and increased the range exponentially....

                  • In my opinion, I think the real problem is that there isn't much to spend currency on. We basically dump most of them at vendors ([i]hoping[/i]) to get, well, you guys know what the hot topic is...😉

                  • Add weapon telemetries to that list. I have 520 of them and they're useless. Worth less than gunsmith materials and are more difficult to get (not that I would ever try, mind you).

                      • My Consumables is constantly full and there are some I would like to get rid of but can't delete the entire stack at once, or have to actually use each one to get rid of them. They need to remove caps on stacks.

                          At least most of them can be used for something, and if just to turn in at the planet vendors for gear to deconstruct right after. i have yet to find good use for the countless baryon boughs i have. also, i believe those items used during the mercury osiris prophecies vanish from your inventory and dont drop anymore once you finish those? so our inventory isnt actually as full as it could be if bungie slept on that. i guess we can be happy to have spider. without him i would very likely be running around with glimmer at the cap more often than not. and yeah, it could be worse. see path of exile or guild wars 2. compared to those or full fledged mmos generally our inventory in d2 is still fairly tidy.

                        • If eververse bounties could be bought with glimmer then everyone could have unlimted bright dust and that would be stupid. The planetary vendor currency makes sense because the different matts are used for different weapons and armor wich makes sense.
