(Yes, Masterwork Cores. Because at the time of that decision that's what they were.) But everything they've done to counter dissatisfaction with the system has been adding new sources for them. Partial Masterworks are significantly more common than Masterworks were in Y1. You could buy them directly from Spider. They added them to the otherwise useless Scrapper Bounties. They added them to Spider's Wanted Bounties. They gave them to you for maxing out your Crucible rank. Now they are adding repeatable bounties to the Gunsmith to get them. The entire history of Enchantment Cores has been [i]decreasing[/i] the scarcity. Moreover what was the point of hijacking another currency? Bungie wanted a currency to regulate the availability of infusion but one already existed; Legendary Shards. Many of you may not remember the early days of the Red War when you had less than 1000 Legendary Shards but once upon a time they were a stop gap to your ability to infuse. If Bungie wanted the Infusion system to feel "impactful" and wanted "scarcity" why was the first place they looked not redesigning the economy for Legendary Shards? Why couldn't they have left Masterwork Cores to creating Masterworks? You know how many masterworks I've made since Forsaken released? Zero. I haven't spent even one Enchantment Core on increasing an item's Masterwork level. The cores are simply too valuable to [u]waste[/u] on marginal stat increases. The end result is that in an effort to make one system worse they made another system worse and now the game is just worse.
