I don't really see the issue. It's no different than leveling in any other RPG. Until you hit max (Light/Power), just wear whatever your highest is I'm saving tons of cores doing that. I'll look cool when I'm 700

  • You repeat everything to obtain higher power gear. Explain to me how it's anything different than any other run of the mill online game with RPG elements? I don't remember The Frozen Throne in WoW being any different between my first and 20th time. Except maybe the wow factor lol Instead of crafting, you have the infusion system which still relies on the same core concept. You collect stuff to increase your power. You're literally doing the same thing in every other game

  • The problem is that gear is the source of almost all of our power and build customization in Destiny because our skill trees are so barren. So you can’t treat gear like you do in other games. Gear is icing on the cake in Diablo 3. It’s the cake itself in Destiny. So when you take gear out of someone’s hands you destroy the build that they’ve worked so hard to construct. And limit what builds they can make which IS THE END GAME.

  • The endgame starts when you hit max light. Might as well just ask for instant gratification at this point. You bought the game, congrats, here's max light lol Building in Destiny is pretty much nonexistent anyway outside of Exotic effects lol. If you can't afford to carry one piece of Exotic gear with you for the time being then you're doing something wrong.

  • Name calling isn't a very sound way for people to take you seriously. You're basically asking for instant gratification. I believe I've seen it all lol Might as well hand out raid gear for team wipes. While we're at it, lets just give everyone the Pinnacle Weapons. Regarding anyone's ass here, your ass is just lazy and entitled. I have a job, a relationship, bills to pay, friendships, family, etc. I still find time to be doing just fine in D2. It's called effort. You should try it.

  • No. No. No. Bungie lost the right to do that when they stripped the skill trees bare and pushed all of our power onto gear. Diablo can force you to play with whatever drops until end game because you have an intricate skill tree that 90% of you power comes from. Your gear is basically just there for customization and optimization. But Destiny’s skill trees are barren and most of out power comes from gear. So you can’t deny player any say over their builds until they reach level cap BECAUSE PEOPLE WILL QUIT THE GAME. You can’t expect a player to grind for weeks before you let them have ANY say in hoe their character looks, how they play or what abilities they have. Which is what Bungie is trying to do to cover up this game’s lack of loot. And quitting in frustration is what people are doing in reply.

Destiny isn't Diablo nor is it a game with deep customization. It never really has been. Besides, who made you the sole decider on Bungie policy? If you don't like their design, jump ship, simple as that. It's been the same way for like 5 years now. I guess we've played two different games for a half decade. What customization we do have, relies primarily on RNG, not player dictation. That's not called building, that's called getting lucky. When I'm not playing endgame, I'm wearing my favorite armor set. When it's time to put in work, I wear my highest light armor. I only bring forward my best weapons. Using my strategy, I'm almost able to bring my entire cool gear set up to the recommended light level for tier 3 Reckoning. I can accomplish that by taking copies of Exotic armor out of my collection and infusing with no Enhancement Core cost. I really don't see why people are blowing Cores out of proportion

  • No. Can’t pull that card. Bungie isn’t pulling this crap because of the way Destiny’s designed. They are pulling it because they can’t keep the game supplied with loot. Go look at your Collections tab and see how little loot has actually been added to this game for Year 2. It’s not enough in items or potential rolls to support a long end game loot chase that is reliably rewarded at moderate intervals like in D1. So Bungie is trying to keep us playing by frustrating our efforts to play Destiny 2 that way. By keeping us in a perpetual midgame item level grind, and interfering with our ability to use the loot that we do get. Then when we get to level cap, they raise it again and the process starts again. So they condition us to accept intermittent reward instead of consistent ones. And the mirage of loot we can’t quite reach keeps driving us. They are trying to get us to play addictively rather than happily. But it’s backfiring because the psychology and neurochemistry are too different. A well designed loot game triggers the brain pathways around effort, reward and accomplishment. The sensation feels good. So we come back to it. The pathways Bungie is trying to work involve euphoric tea all. The feeling is one of frustration in chasing after something that FELT good but that is just beyond your reach. But the memory is powerful enough to get you to continue despite your efforts not actually being rewarded. The problem is that more people respond to the former than the latter. Which is why so many are reporting the anger, frustration and are walking away. Massive tried the same thing late in The Division 1 when they stopped really supplying the game with new content and tried to really in super low drop rates to keep people playing. I quit that game too. This isn’t about game design. It’s about psychological manipulation.

  • I was right, we apparently played two totally different Destiny 1 games. Majority of the loot in D1 was scrapped every yearly expansion. You couldn't reobtain older weapons until they made it possible with AoT bounties. Every expansion have you newly designed weapons with virtually identical stats. Archetypes along with perk rolls severely limited your arsenal if you wanted to optimize DPS. Everyone played hoping that RNG blessed them with luck. Everyone played to obtain the same rolls. So don't give me that mumbo jumbo about D1 having a superior loot system. It didn't. Its practically identical to D2 post Forsaken. I look at my collections page and I STILL see stuff I have yet to acquire. I still haven't earn half the loot in this game. I honestly think you should stop playing if you feel the way you do. You're obviously burnt out. And quite frankly, you're projecting a very silly expectation of game development onto a game that's been doing the same thing for 5 years now. I seriously don't know what copy of Destiny you played, but I can't say I ever experienced this extravagant loot system you preach on and on about

  • 1. I'm a Day 1 Destiny 1 player. I remember very clearly how the game worked. 2. You are confusion RNG loot....with RNG PROGRESSION. The two are VERY different. Destiny 1 had both RNG loot and RNG progression until House of Wolves, when Bungie introduced what would eventually become infusion. "Forever 29" is what happens when you attach an RNG progression system to an unrewarding loot game. That was a broken system....and people rightfluly complained about it. Infusion helps to mitigate the impact of RNG on progression....and when Bungie went to 1:1 infusion, by late Y2....the game finally had a reasonably well-designed progression system . OTOH, RNG LOOT is a part of every loot-based game...and every one who plays one has to make their peace with the fact that there may be some things on theloot table that the game just will never give you. I never got a Fatebringer in Y1. One raid my ENTIRE FIRETEAM got one to drop, except for me....saying that -blam!-ING SUCKED doesn't begin to do it justice....but that's just how these games are. But "how these games" also "are" is that PROGRESSION is an investment process. You progress in a predictable fashion in response to how much time you invest in playing the game.......ANY part of the game. The Progression system in vanilla D1 violated that rule.....but the Bungie of 2015 went on to fix that problem. The Progression system in Y2 of D2 is once again violating that rule. But the Bungie of 2019 is giving the player base the One-Finger Salute....and telling us to STFU and deal with their broken system. Big difference.

  • It still has both lol. You don't know what power level your powerful items will be when they drop. Could be 1 level higher, could be 5, who knows! And you certainly don't know what your rewards will be. For example, I still don't have Jotuun no matter how hard I try. Infusion is still 1:1, so I don't know what you're talking about lol. The only violation of progression is poor inventory management on the player's part. If reaching 700 light takes you nearly 4 months then I honestly recommend finding another game. I am having no trouble with the Enhancment Core economy. I expect to have my favorite gear at 700 and fully masterworked by this time next month. 3 weeks in and my light level is around 685 so I can begin infusion whenever I want. And that's as a casual player. As far as investment is concerned, I find it to be spot on. You don't play much, you don't progress much and vice versa if you treat the game like a full time job. Like I said, if you can't feel rewarded from an already streamlined and simple progression system, it's time to move on. I think you've reached your time.

How so? I've played many Blizzard games, especially Warcraft. It's funny, I remember doing the same dungeons and raids for upwards of a whole year before it changed with Cataclysm. After the first couple months, it was just for the fun of it. The gear never changed except for stat rolls and well..... we know how optimization is lol. Sounds oddly familiar to another game with a giant floating ball with space magic........ Run a pure strength build on a spellcaster class and tell me how that goes lol. Better yet, get that full intellect gearset for Warrior.
