Seriously how many currencies does this game need? Cores, gun parts, all the planet materials, ghost fragments, shards, it's kind of silly. Add onto that the dozens of types of bounties and it is just layers and layers of "noise" on top of what should be the core gameplay loop. Shoot stuff, get new gear, which makes you better at shooting stuff. The whole economy needs to be dramatically simplified.

  • Yep, far too much going on. I have a handle on all of it, having been experienced in the game from day 1...but I could see where new players could be completed turned off to the game because the learning curve with currencies alone.

nope. its called an rpg. learn what it is and report back...its not that complicated. D2 vanilla was straight garbage because the only currency in the game was tokenstokenstokenstokenstokens. THAT is simplified and that is boring.

  • if this was a true MMO i would be cool with it . This game is a game where the devs have no -blam!-ing clue what it is

How exactly does a dozen different currencies make a game more interesting or engaging? Played plenty of actual RPGs. Don't recall any with this many currencies that serve very little purpose.

  • Ah yes my bad let's go back to tokens for every vendor in sure that'll work out just fine. Dude there aren't even that many currencies and all of them are pretty damn obvious what you're meant to do with them. Like what is confusing about them? Tons and tons of rpg's have a multitude of resources. Heck take a game everyone loves to talk about in relation to destiny: warframe. They add a new resource every 10 minutes and they don't even explain what you do with it. Platinum, ducats, credits, 15 different crafting mats, minerals, fish, 9 syndicate currencies.. Pvp... Consumables. Like bruh.

  • Nobody brought up tokens except you. And I'm not talking crafting materials (which don't exist in this game. Not sure what Warframe has to do with anything I said either. I'm talking the dozen-ish currencies, as in things you give to vendors as payments for other things or spend on upgrades. Again, I'm asking how having all these currencies makes the game more fun and engaging. At no point did I say I was struggling to understand them. I'm saying the system is clunky, obtuse, and could be simpler.

  • There is no reason for it to be simpler. It is already quite simple. Crafting materials in this game would be the planeterial Materials which they are literally named. They are a currency. If you werent talking about them, then what really were you talking about lmao. We have glimmer. Shards. Mod components and cores. They are the main currency that serve a variety of purposes and then we have specific ones linked to factions or vendors which also serve their own purpose. Its neither complex nor boring or dumb. Play any other mmorpg from Wow to elder scrolls online. They all have manyer currencies. Also "I didn't bring up X" is not a valid defense when your comment clearly warrants a response based on evidence that simplifying the game would be better and stating "I've played many rpg's and that don't have neumorus currencies" only to be instantly proven wrong and then you say no one brought it up. Yeah lmfao no your done. You have no argument.

  • So again, why is having a material for each planet, cores, gunsmith parts, and glimmer fun and engaging?

They serve a purpose. You do a thing and get a thing related to it. That's the point. Is it fun and engaging to use glimmer for everything? No. Nor would it make sense for you to say use Ada's black armory schematics to pay for dead orbit gear.

  • Ha thanks. Seriously, I have a friend who doesn't game as much as me, didn't play D1. Pulled him into D2 a bit. Trying to explain the economy of this game to a newbie borders on embarrassing. Its comical how many things we have just gotten used to keeping track of.
