• The only conclusion I see is that if something is not the the way people want it, it’s obviously bad. Same applies for everything out there. I have a different opinion than you so I must be wrong. *Smh*. Life is going to be hard for you snowflakes.

    • Sols, I’ll throw a few questions back at you. 1). Can you buy 2 to 3 cores per day, every day, from Spider? 2). Does your unequipped and higher level gear, on your character or in your vault count towards your highest available overall power level? 3). Is masterworking any piece of gear supposed to be a daily activity? If the answers to those three are yes, yes and no respectively, then the following views are completely logical, and appropriate. 1). Cores are not rare like unicorns. Buying multiple per day is the exact opposite of that. 2). Progression is not impeded, at all. Only thing being hindered is our ability to wear/use what we like, aka personal preferences. If you MUST use the “collective’s” meta, I have no issue and completely understand those concerns, heck, I’ll even agree with you. But, In that case, Bungie gives you a minimum of 1 infusion Per Day. That’s putting one character’s entire loadout infused to max available power with personally preferred gear on, every reset. Just visit Spider, you don’t even have to fire a round, or enter any activity, those you like or dislike. 3). Either masterworked gear is supposed to be unique and rare, thus costly wrt a “meaningful choice” or they aren’t. Last thing, wrt the pitchforking community. I see the exact same ppl who demanded rng being pulled out of the core acquisition process currently complaining about being forced to do activities they “don’t like” in the season 7 changes. Ppl demanded rng be removed, got a positive step toward that end result, and are pitchforking now bc they don’t like the “new” non-rng requirements.

      • I am very content with the new update with Enhancement Cores that Bungie has brought upon us. It will give us easier access to cores like Scrapper Bounties. Unfortunately the Scrapper Bounties are being sacrificed for these new bounties but you can now guarantee you Enhancement Core bounties at the cost of some Gunsmith Materials which I am sure most players have a decent amount of. Sure It was difficult to get Enhancement Cores before but personally it was my fault that I didn't get as many as I wanted to get because I didn't grind the game to its fullest. I am pleased with the update and look forward to future content.

My thoughts... Cores have never been an issue for me. They have never hindered my game play, game time, nor dictated what I could, or couldn't do. That doesn't mean there isn't an issue. The issue just doesn't pertain to me. If they keep them, or remove them...doesn't matter to me. I'm sitting at 50 I think, and I'm lucky to have played 10-12 hours since Season of the Drifter dropped. The issue I have, is how they've managed the entire system. They rename the damn things, and now they gonna limit the "general source" to bounties..maybe now that Spider isn't the only "drug dealer" on the block he will reduce his cost to stay in competition. If they become more abundant...ain't nobody gonna grind Tangled Shore for ghost fragments and chase down some targets...for 1 core. The whole situation just makes me laugh. And I'm laughing at both sides of the argument. Some of these arguments ( for both sides ) absolutely are for select perspectives of the game. People have all these different perspectives, because there is people who don't have DLC's, Annual Pass...etc etc. So their situation is different from the people who do. The Platform you're on also factors in to the experience. You got new players to think about, as well as the old players. They all need to be heard, to follow the logic of this game. For a game who's intended purpose was to unite genres, and guardians alike...they have done an exceptional job at creating segregation. I understand the frustration, my frustration isn't towards Cores tho. Those things have very lil impact on my gaming
The Great Weapons Part Shortage
It'll be a thing, just like Mod Components were. Deja Vu.... Can't do anything but laugh.

      • No, not very happy. Bungie forgets that we have alot of weapons. Weapons we like go use. I don't want to use 1 or 2 weapons only. I want to for example use a hand cannon, and a sniper in a strike. So i also want to adjust my armor to match my load out. Next strike, a pulse, and a shotgun, with maybe an exotic to make my melee good. So different armor. Third strike, scout, and fusion. More armor again. When the entire season being just leveling up. I dont have the option to make different load outs and have fun with it. To want to pick up a weapon I haven't used in a long time to have a bit of fun, its going to sacrifice maybe something I might need later. I don't mind the progression slowed from vannilla. They went too with the cores. They were fine getting them slow when we would need them to masterwork our weapons, and armor. I know I wanted to have all my weapons masterworked, but thats not even a consideration anymore. Too many people like me won't have that option as long as infusion with them takes all of our cores.

Bungie have simply moved the problem to a different area. I would prefer to use my gunsmith materials for mods, which are already too scare and too costly to deal with.

      • Dude, what changed except we no longer get random bounties from scrapping and CAN get them from Banshee. Like okay. You moved them to a new place with a SLIGHTLY more guaranteed route while it still costs 17 cores to masterwork a base weapon. Like, I’m starting to get legitimately MAD now. Before I was willing to go with “ okay, you’re working on a solution.” But this “solution” is anything but. I feel outright ignored. I feel everyone who bothered saying anything was outright ignored. To all you “you mad bro?” people, YES! I’M MAD NOW.

        • I'm kinda indifferent. I'm fine with switching around armor pieces and waiting to infuse the same pieces into each other for glimmer. The weapons, I usually just leave and hold off to infuse or play around with new ones. But I don't really have much reason to be the highest light I can be at all times, so... yeah.

          • In all honesty, I'm completely fine with it. I don't even remember the last time I stressed about getting enhancement cores for infusion as I've always somehow got plenty. For me, it's the other materials that are too costly, like the Baryon Bough, for example.

          • I currently have 50 cores since I havent infused in months and whatnot. But regardless the issue is that bungie doesn’t know how to address player feedback. Until they get it, the game and community will suffer.

          • Don't mind, I already know how to manage them so it's not really an issue. I spose it's pretty good as scrapper bounties were a bit sporadic. 👍

          • Not at all. It's fine, add bounties (which should have already been there all along), but remove the cost of infusion. That's the ONE place where Cores need adjustment. I think most can accept the high cost to fully Masterwork a Weapon/Armor piece of your liking, but just to infuse an armor/weapon piece....that's where it goes too far.

          • I really don't mind the lack of loot, as long as the grind isn't bad. Hit max, spend season playing gambit, crucible, strikes etc. Now the grind to max is the game, and it absolutely sucks. Stopped dec. 6th due to the "wasted time" feeling I got everytime playing this game.

          • The issue will never be resolved because it's consistently communicated in the wrong way. The issue with core acquirement is that we have to use so many to masterwork weapons specifically and to some extent armour, although armour cost isn't to bad. Total cost to maximise a full loadout, weapons and then armour to match is close to 100 cores and that's per activity per character..... If enfusement cost and masterwork cost was closer then the idea of meaningful choices becomes much more apparent. So the real conversation we need to be having is " reduce masterworks cost to balance and encourage infusement"

          • The part I did not like was the following earning cores versus using them. If I am an example I earn about as many as I use. That is only true because there are not enough so I ration like crazy. I would love to upgrade more weapons or keep the armor sets I like leveled but without the cores I cannot. I barely play at the moment as I just do not want to deal with the leveling up slog. (1500+ hour D2 player BTW)

          • No, they just moved them from being an RNG drop to now costing us more mats.. this is no different than picking up Spider Bounties. The reason they keep throwing out is so flawed its crazy how they either just ignore it or are ignorant to it. All gear is essentially the same aside from the burn or "feel" of the weapon. So you find a gun you love, you invest in it and mod it.. now you have to keep bumping it up so its relevent. Do that 9 times over for a proper all around loadout. Now armor... its all the same.. just looks different. Now add in that only like 6 world sets drop with current perk rolls and most are straight up hideous. Never mind all the armor we left behind that we invested in already. Its a complete circle jerk designed to keep you running in circles. Its not a fun little loop, its not enjoying. It completely disrespects our play time, investment and $$ spent supporting Bungie. I started with Marathon on Apple.. yes I am old. This isn't that Bungie.. This is just straight up arrogance at the highest level.

            • I have absolutely no issue with cores. I never have. I use them as there were intended to enhance weapons and armour. I do not use them during the power level grind. In the past 12 days I have earned over 100 cores.. its not hard if you play and ustilize the economy in an intelligent manner.

It's very simple. If a leveling system relies on you not to use the system in order to succeed... then it's a failed af system. "Just don't use your cores." "Save your cores until you're near max LL." "Ignore the whole point of infusion until you're at the point where 'meaningful progression' is already irrelevant because you've already hit max progress.' This isn't a leveling system, it's a damn bank account. I don't feel like I'm progressing... I feel like I'm doing checks and balances to make sure I can get ONLY what I need to 700 when I hit 700... and then hit the 'save for eternity' button for next reset. -- I know everyone hates Warframe comparisons to Destiny... but seriously, you want progression? Guess what, you earn the gun, you keep the gun. DONE. That's it. No bs (re-earn the gun) tactics.
I suppose that prime weapons could be argued as 're-earning' the gun. But... at the same time, it is a tangibly better version so it's not like it's literally the same thing. I could see a debate here though.
Want to improve it even more. Mods. Best part, one mod will cover all your guns (that can use that mod). You don't need to earn the mod for every single gun you own. THAT is progress. I collect a thing, then I can use said thing wherever I wish. I can invest in that thing, and through that investment that thing can become viable in most situations. No restarts. No regression. Collect, improve, enjoy. That is progress, IMO. Feel free to disagree.

              • Hell NO!!! Again Bungie isn’t listening, the community is asking Bungie to REMOVE the cores from the infusion system not give us more bounties to complete!!! There’s more than enough grind in this game, without another stupid material to grind for!!!!!

              • Overall, no. I want to be able to use more gear, more loadouts. The enhancement core and infusion costs just stand in the way of that. For me end game is using things I hadn't had time to use while grinding gear or ranks, not infusing gear. I want to be able to use the gear I obtain. The whole infusion thing and excessive power level grind is really burdening the fun potential of this game.
