EDIT: this is just to start a civil conversation, not to attack each other. again try to be civil.
So the D2 community is super weird, the group of us that enjoy the game for what it is and dont really hate it or love it seem to be the quiet and neutral section. and then theres those who hate the game like its the devil, and those who will defend everything about it like. shit weird, both sides are psychos right?
Those who mindlessly hate it... why? if you dont like the game now chances are you didnt like it before either. so why spend your time telling the rest of us that we are stupid and fanboys, and all the other generic shit you seem to throw. like cool dude, you dont enjoy it, yeah thats fair, plenty of reasons to dislike the game. But ripping others over it makes no sense at all. leave it, go do anything else that you enjoy doing, nobody will be mad if you do that.
But those who blindy defend the game, you are just as bad as those who blindy hate it. realize that the game has massive issues that need to be addressed, and let the criticism be heard. now that doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy the game. thats what its made for, to be played, and enjoyed as a consumer. But also realize that there are problems that need fixing.
Now im not on any side of the argument here. i enjoy the game for what it is, but also realize that there are problems that need to be fixed.
The point of this whole tangent? not really any point at all actually. Just me throwing out my view of the community, there s a lot of weirdos here who fall on either side of the extreme. they either mindlessly hate it, or blindly defend it. Both sides are dumb but moist of all both sides are pointless and dont make sense. (in my opinion).
What do the rest of you think? Does it make sense to be one of these people from either extreme?

I am a vocal critic of this game. I loved D1 and played it exclusively. My love for Destiny as a franchise died with the release of D2. For a bit of reference, I hate, despise and detest PvP. I accepted the forced PvP in D1 because I loved the game. When D2 released and i found the subclasses and weapons to be reconfigured entirely around PvP balancing, I immediately stopped playing. I didn't like it. When Forsaken released, it seemed Bungie was working toward something. The weapons and armor were more powerful. The new subclasses were more powerful. The power fantasy was making a comeback. Fast forward to Season of the Drifter, the power fantasy is again diminished with the nerf hammer falling hard across the board. Again, I'm out. What's unfortunate is, I've grown weary of the constant nerfs. Not just the ones brought on by PvP balancing, but the senseless across the board nerfs to everything. And I know what you Superbungie sack leeches are gonna say.......but they buffed x, y, and z. The buffs don't reconcile half of what they nerfed.
Those who mindlessly hate it... why? if you dont like the game now chances are you didnt like it before either.
Because it has such great potential. Pick up the pad and it just plays, it flows. It's all the stupid and repetitive guff and rng that kills it.

Mindless hate? So taking away 80% of the previous game is mindless hate? Ok. You're a genius.
-
Good discussion. Different points of views are healthy.
-
I’m in the “I just want to digitally slay aliens” category.
-
I think the people you’re saying hate it, don’t hate destiny, they hate bungie. They hate what bungie are doing to the game they used to love. Thats why they’re so angry.
-
I still remember the day when I came to the forums and It made me so angry... I hated those who think something is ok but it’s clearly NOT ok! I wrote thing which shouldn’t been written and got banned several times! I still hate the 50%, but I won’t get angry anymore since I realized it’s useless to communicate:) There are problems with in D2 but the main problem is...
Community = Toxic
-
You are overthinking this so hard. Like....way too much. This forum is a dumpster fire. The game is fun.
-
I have changed from loving the game to spending time in the forums loving to hate the game.
-
Bungie ( fire the creator ) its ours
-
PC community is alot better. It's because you have a bunch of teens and young people who get a kick out of trolling and things. Bungie is at fault sometimes for really dumb mistakes. But the community is toxic because of PS4 and XB1 teens.
-
For better or for worse, Destiny is the best gaming experience for me.

Well said.

I completely agree with you on all points you made. And to add to that I tend to lean against the ones who excessively hate everything bungie does. It's perfectly fine to have things you dislike, I know I do (I'm looking at you "enhancement cores") and by all means talk about it and make your opinion heard but for God's sake stop being so damn mean and toxic about it. There's a right and a wrong way to voice your opinion and going on the forums every day and cursing bungie and anyone who enjoys the game too a thousand deaths is very counter productive and makes us all look like brainless monkeys throwing feces. These people wonder why bungie isn't listening or the community managers don't ever reply and they for some reason can't understand that it's because they're acting like neanderthals.....it's called civilized discussion people......
-
bingo, perfect. Take my upvote

I agree 100% dude. Destiny 2, is flawed in many ways and repetitive a lot of the time as well. It’s just one of those games that I really enjoy playing with friends. Whether it’s just chilling in a strike playlist or doing a raid. We joke about this game being boring, buggy and broken all the time but we still play it because we enjoy playing it together.
-
I don't spend much time thinking about it. Bungie will make what they'll make, I just wanted something to play.
-
-
It's annoying because if you disagree with someone about any point in the game that you dislike you're hate monger, if you agree with others about points in the game that are liked you're a Bungie loving fanboy. Gets annoying for people like me who dislike some parts and love other parts of the game.

There is a LONG and sorted story and history surrounding this topic. Im not going to recap the entire saga, but suffice to say the following: Delusions of grandure ~ Bungie 2012

Wow, I've been wanting to say this for so long. I see myself as having a similar stance as yours. Recently I've attempted to be more vocal in support of things I like and more vocal in suggestions on things I don't love. Thanks for being a voice of reason in the forums!

The Destiny community is a strange subject.Like criticize the game but play continues.

Edited by Cinderchar: 3/21/2019 9:10:01 PMI will tell you the solution and it's pretty easy in theory, but maybe not always in practice. Simply interact with the people worth interacting with here. If people call you names or show you their extreme bias towards one side, ignore them. You can find people worth interacting with on the forums and then just ignore the other 80% of the blind haters/lovers/trolls. I think people get too sensitive here. State your opinions, interact with the adults, and just ignore the rest. Bungie pretty much ignores everyone here daily too. If any of this seems too difficult, switch to Reddit. It's so much better on Reddit.

While I love Gambit the current Gambit Prime and Reckoning are only built for those with active stacked fireteams.

I kind of fall on both extremes. I absolutely love the destiny PvP, for me personally its by far the best PvP experience out there. At the same time however, I have uncontrollable hatred for the balancing choices in PvP. Its an experience that's so utterly wonderful to play that's decimated by cheese balls abusing things that require no skill at all which Bungie refuses to change.

Are you new? Since the second week of September 2014 this has been the norm
