Warlocks are already in a bit of a rough spot in PvP, especially in competitive due to the lack of substantial warlock super buffs compared to other classes. You can argue that warlock supers are fine just the way they are and that they did get buffed however i personally do not believe that +1 to chained enemies and +3 seconds duration are anything thats actually been put thought into like with the other classes.
I've been a Voidwalker main all the way since D1 and one of the main things that attracted me to the class (other than the super stylish man skirts) was Blink.
Warlock jumps have always been slightly lackluster compared to the other classes and always felt a bit clunky and slow, unless you used transversive steps with burst glide. But, we've always had Blink to fall back on.
As stated in the video made by Sole Savior, D1 Blink was pretty damn powerful and had practically no drawbacks whatsoever. This went through several nerfs through the history of D1 and followed into D2 where the blink we received was a shadow of its former self. By no means unusable, but it definitely suffers from several factors. As mentioned in the video, you only have 2 Blink charges before your jump is on a short cooldown... Perfectly understandable. Your jump also removes your HUD... Sure why not. Your weapon ready speed is significantly hindered after Blinking... Okay, again i can see why.
But this is not okay. This is NOT how hitboxes are supposed to work. I should never be killed by someone shooting where i was a second ago nor should i be able to kill people who aren't there anymore. Please watch the video uploaded by Sole Savior to really understand what is happening. For a long time i thought i just had bad connection or that this is just a result of P2P connection, but this is a problem every Blink main faces.
BUNGIE PLEASE FIX THIS. Warlock life is already harder than it needs to be.

1 ReplyGood luck with that. If it doesn't affect the Hunter class, then Bungie doesn't really care. Still waiting on that warlock melee to match the same speed as the other two classes.

Bump! For Christ sakes we need this

1 ReplySo here's a bit of a lesson in how blink works. Think of blink like an extra quick double jump from hunter just durning the middle of it you turn invisible. During the entire duration of the jump you are still capable of being hit, as if you were just jumping like a hunter.

6 RepliesWe're talking about fractions of a second here. That falls well within the range of latency.

Edited by Infamous067: 3/22/2019 12:39:35 AMOh man I’ve been complaining about this issue since destiny 2 came out and never got a reply from bungie, not even other players cared about it since most players main hunters and titans. I understand your pain but look at nova warp, one second you are having fun and the next you go back to being only good at pve. Don’t get me wrong nova warp truly was broken but it didn’t need to get destroyed. Blinks issue is massive, I cant tell you how frustrating it is to use blink in destiny 2, its sad that destiny 1 didn’t even have this issue

I mained Sunsinger since it first vanilla was out. I remember those blink nerfs like it was yesterday. Likewise, yeah I agree with everything said here, blink should be ramped up

I'm a voidwalker main and stopped using blink because of that.
Also, I usually fall down to death whenever I blink, though.
Blink now is a cool move, but too punishing to be used in competitive. Now, blink is only for voidwalker and buffing it too much will make voidwalker OP as sh!t. People said voidwalkers shouldn't be able to escape combat by just blinking, but this hitbox not only disables us from "Escaping from the combat" but also making us to have hitbox as big as Oryx in the King's Fall raid. After all of this rant, this is my solution. Make blink's hitbox work just as it did in Vanilla D1, when it was OP. I know Titan fanboys and especially spectral blade dudes will disagree with me, but blink is nerfed enough without hitbox nerf. It will be very hard to blink shotgun people without any HUD on. You will need to know how far blink sends you and how far opponent is from the shotgun range and use blink in exact angle in order to successfully blink shotgun people. Though it would sound OP, it requires so much skill that it will be justified.

Working as intended lol from bungo

I’m not entirely sure what’s going on with blink, but I believe that it does need looked at. Something is off and needs fixed.
-
Welp Bungie, get your asses to work

I main Blink and this problem is extremely annoying. I can successfully predict an incoming shotgun rusher and blink with perfect timing, yet they shoot my initial position (after I already teleported), and they get awarded with a kill. A blink buff would be nice considering only Warlocks would benefit from it, and they are currently the least used character on PvP.

Have a bump

I used to use blink a lot in D1, I came around in The Taken King, so I'm not an evil D1 Y1 bastard. But I stopped because 1, blink can be inaccurate for myself, I can't always control it as much as I could. 2, this exact post explains why, so hopefully they fix this soon for you fellow Warlocks!

I agree but i blame the community as a whole and warlocks included. People cried about blink in D1 because hunters abused it and most warlocks refused it so they quickly jumped on board with the nerf blink train. I noticed the way you used blink was more of a reposition but this is wrong for the reasons you shown. This has happened to me numerous times which is why only only use it to close the distance. Blink should be limitless especially if its just a big hitbox.

I agree. This kind of stuff shouldn’t be happening. Evasive abilities like blink and dodge should actually be able to...well...EVADE things. I have been on both the giving and receiving sides of this for blink. Dodge isn’t as bad it it too faces a similar issue.

3 RepliesCan we also remove the invisible cooldown on Blink? So damn annoying when I try to Blink and it just doesn't.

2 RepliesI mean you blinked right on top of him and he had a shotgun out. You probably shouldn’t live through that in any case.
