Nerf Getaway Artist!!!!!

Alright, now since I'm assuming that outburst got your attention, as one of the people who have gotten the getaway artist 2 hours after the new season had started, I definitely say this with absolute truth. The getaway artist definitely needs a nerf. This thing is just too powerful and if paired with the right mods, becomes infinite. Right now, it's definitely not a problem, but once more people get this exotic you will absolutely see posts calling for it's nerf. Could you imagine a full team of warlocks going into comp or even quickplay with this thing equipped? Most kills would come from the arc souls. Draining health and shields in a extremely fast manner. I'm just going to go ahead and wish for it to be nerfed because the outcrys are inevitable. What's the perfect way to nerf it without changing its mechanic heavily? Reduce the amount of grenade energy gained when it hits something. Either make it have a minimal energy gain or just remove it. All I ask is that bungie lets it exist for as long as everything that needed a nerf. I definitely know it needs a change, but if it takes a post to just make a change automatically, then what would the hundreds of other posts in the past about nerfs would mean? As I said, I had this exotic two hours after the season came in. And almost immediately, I knew that it was a little too powerful. I initially told myself that I was going to make a post about it when I got it. But then, I forgot it, remembered, then forgot it again. Only when I was in crucible, I started to remember that I needed to make this post. I also wanted to find the opportune time to post this, so many could see it. So just to make things clear. This exotic absolutely needs a outright nerf to its energy gain on hits. Not cutting the 20 second lifetime to 10, not reducing how many Bullets it shoots or how fast, just the energy gain on hit. No need to make it useless, just make it fair. Hey if you just scrolled all to the way to the bottom... Nerf the grenade energy gain the arc soul gives to the player upon hitting something.

  • I'm sick of mutha***s, wanting to nerf everything concerning the warlock. That's why the warlock is practically useless. You people cried about Transcendence. They nerfed that. You cried about the pulse grenade, they nerfed that. Damn you people cried about rising storm. And then they nerfed that. Don't let me go into the other classes. You guys are just a bunch of whining azz babies. But yet, you don't see nothing wrong with invisibility. LMAO

      • I don't even think the energy gain is a problem honestly, the thing has a limited range before it actually starts firing which means you can still get outgunned with it on, I've also seen your other post talking about running into a full squads of these... Dude you realize that if you full stacked most exotics that you would get the same if not better results, but it's just an exotic that helps counter shotgun rushers and charging Titans/hunters in or out of their super. It shoots a burst of 5 arcs that deal 11 damage each every 1.5 or 1.6 seconds..... If you think that's game breaking then you obviously haven't been in crucible, and aging you keep saying "when more people get them" over and over again but you still have to use this on stormcallers exclusively which have had one of the worst neutral games ever. TL;DR: I run these with 5 ordinance mods and still don't feel op, they have limited range, they aren't hit scan, and while yes while you gain energy on impact from it, in a meta of shotguns, Hunters, and Titans oh my (and all of their BS exotics) warlocks needed something to balance the board. Ps: between shotguns, Lunas, NF, and the plethora of pulse rifles running around crucible this is probably the least harmful if at all.

        • I’ve played against getaway artist players and it is not really a problem :’D. Everything can be op if you know how to use it. For instance the 6the coyote. I use it in pvp a lot and nobody complains about it but still I receive hate mail for double dodging:’D.

          • Warlocks have been getting the shaft since the beginning of D2. We got a leg-up with Nova Warp but that didn't last long. Now we have Getaway Artist; an excellent exotic that can kick ass and take names on a subclass that hasn't been all that spectacular. Don't worry: it will get hit with a nerf. Because that's how this boulder rolls. I just wish the community didn't add injury to insult.

            • Oh no, warlocks have something that might fit into the meta for a second? NERF THIS NOW ITS TOO STRONG WARLOCKS ARE ALWAYS OP ITS NOT FAIR. NERF NERF NERF. How bout for one -blam!-in second we think about things. Oh no, an arc soul, this requires playing the worst subclass in the entire game, boo -blam!-ing hoo. Forget that hunters and titans have the best position in the game right now, you've gotta use a bad class for one good ability? Well I guess we'd better nerf warlocks again.

            • Getaway artist is hardly broken... It's a GREAT utility exotic, but definitely not Shards or OEM good. And most assuredly not Crown of Tempests/Geomag good. I'm using it right now because I like having the arc soul in the Chaos Reach tree, but there are far better exotics for warlocks in PvE AND PvP.

                    Bullshit. Do you even PvP? Please. DO go into PvP with 4 of these. Anyone with half a brain has the perfect solution.... RISK RUNNER. You are done. That's what I've done and that's what has been done to me when I get too obnoxious with Getaway Artist. Stop nerfing warlocks, also -blam!- hunters.

                          • My friend got 2 of the new hunter exotic in the first 3 hours of this season. I havent seen 1 exotic drop since november.
