1 ReplyBungie just said they don’t plan to remove enhancement cores, tomorrow they will supposedly talk about it and whatever but have no plans to remove them. Great! Another middle finger to the community
-
yes infusion cores made me quit the game , infusion cores suck and restrict item usage and ultimately restrict fun

People that say they have enough cores and it's "not a problem" should be forced to play a "demo" account for a month where they start this season at 600 (or 650), and the account is locked to playing no more than (let's say) 10 hours a week (maybe that's high). You quickly find that while getting cores is certainly possible, the sheer amount of things you have to do in the time you have becomes a burden. Do you spend your time grinding that exotic quest? Going after milestones? Do you want to raid that week? What about Crucible? I have no problem with people that can devote more of their time than others to Destiny, and I don't think their hard work should be erased (and if they've farmed a crapload of cores, well done). I think they should realize that after a specific point, it becomes ridiculous to expect people to try to properly break up their time so as to efficiently farm cores while also doing whatever else they want in the game. It's a GAME, you're supposed to play it for fun. You shouldn't need to spend a bunch of your time figuring out the most effective method of farming cores so that you can actually properly use the items you've spent the rest of your time collecting.

7 RepliesAll this whining over nothing. Cores are common as hell do bounties and use Mattereweaves. HAvent been low on cores since Launch of forsaken. You literally get them everywhere. Just play the game. And if you dont want to play the game, keep in mind that this is a lootshooter grind game that takes commitment if it doesnt suit your casual gameplay then maybe you picked off the wrong game from the shelf? That's how I'dd see it. The materials and stuff are not there just to spite you off they are there to make you use your brain, Do you want to infuse this item? Is it really worth infusing this 1 light higher pair of pants to my current ones.

I fully agree take enhancement cores out of infusion! I have the perfect rolled dreaming city armor on each character for my play style! And now you they want me to grind reckon tier 3 for the same perks as my dreaming city gear no thanks! And not to mention tier 3 reckoning armor should at least drop at your light level! There is no way I am trying to infuse prime tier 3 gambit gear to be 700 with the way enhancement cores are right now. Not to mention gambit prime armor only works in gambit prime!

15 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 3/19/2019 6:17:38 PMYou know, if Bungie actually added in-game content to this game and didn't remove things like factions that removed 3 full sets of gear among whatever weapons you get from them, and allowed Y1 gear to be able to use the new mods the infusion system wouldn't have been changed? There has been a lot of different opinions about the cores and a lot of gamers making excuses for this company poor actions to try to justify them adding the cores with them being fully aware that the infusion system prior to the cores was never "broken" in the first place. So, instead of looking for ways to try to keep gamers engaged in acquiring them by adding actual loot to the game to use them on, Bungie wonderful investment team went overboard looking for ways like cost and the way one could acquire them making it more of a game to grind then actually play. Not only that, knowing cores were actually created to masterwork that now became an issue. Correct me if I'm wrong, It's 20 now to masterwork an item? How is that a way to keeping gamers engaged in the game knowing most don't like the grind to acquire them especially since this Annual Pass started they barely added anything in this game or updated the previous content?
Then the excuse came that some gamers use to try to justify Bungie's poor actions was that this is now a "hardcore gamers game" and it's just "casuals" complaining about it when this game wasn't even built for either. it's funny how many haven't even figured that last part out yet and somehow because Bungie said: "this is a friends game" at one point they believed that. Then Bungie said: This is a "collectors game" and then they changed their mind and believe that. Can anyone see where I'm going with this? If Bungie said: "This game is an ES game" Are you going to believe that too?
Destiny is supposed to be a lot based game giving gamers a path to acquire that loot that it should keep gamers engaged in the game they are playing, but with barely any loot added to the game with the absurd amount of duplicates with just about everything in this game from gear to perks? It's not a game that was created to try to keep gamers engaged. It's a game the investment team turned into mostly a grind. This is not an actual RPG and Bungie's investment team needs to stop trying to treat it like one knowing that amount of loot was never added to this game nor will it ever be added to this game. This game consists of only 3 things and nothing more. Weapons, gear and a little material to level up with limited builds.

A bunch of Meh from me. I understand both sides of the argument, don't need to watch some youtube rant to enhance my experience. Personally have no issue with them. It does seem like added bs to extend the grind, especially for those who always assume the worst from Bungie. :/

5 Replieslol look at all the Bungo fanboys downvoting. Bunch of drones.

2 RepliesJust gonna throw this view out there. Cores are RNG. Yes some bounties drop for them and spider has a few, but overall they are RNG. I quit for a long while because of the gross amount if boredom. Now I'm playing again I have nothing that I want beyond a certain helmet and the Gambit Prime shotgun. For the past few days I've been focusing on that grind and only infused from 640-650-660. Ten light level jumps so I can do certain things. I've been stuck between 2-4 cores since. 'Just play the game' isn't a good argument especially towards RNG based thing just to level up a meaningless number. The one part of this video I see correct is that they dont belong in infusion and that the people arguing to keep them are the minority that have tons though they never have an actual worthwhile point.

2 RepliesDon’t think they’re listening mate. I suspect the enhancement cores are not meant to “enhance” the gaming experience at all. But more a tool for bungie to drag things out so players take longer to do stuff, and buying them time between new content. It’s essentially a big “f**k you” to really avid gamers that play zealously. Haha! Well maybe I’m wrong but I can’t see any other reason for the silly cores.

Made it about 4 minutes into the vid, before I decided to go play Division 2.
Guy is right..
1 ReplyIt's by design to slow your roll, due to lack of content.

Just your daily reminder that Enhancement cores for infusion was a terrible decision
I would lmao if Bungie removed the enhancement cores for infusion, but brought back the infusion system from D1. The system that required 2-3 items of sacrifice to get to your target power level. I couldn’t find the calculator in the App Store. I’m sure most wouldn’t complain about the enhancement core system if they had a taste of the early D1 system.

2 RepliesCores for infusion has been and still is a "hot topic" and the usual answers revolve around either spending unnecessarily long amounts of time doing tedious bounties, the "Vance space farming simulator 2019", buying 2 a day or using trash loot you don't want to etc etc. The argument "you don't understand infusion" is old, and is simply not true. The argument over "meaningful" is completely subjective. So, my proposal is this. Remove Enhancement Cores from INFUSION only, but INCREASE the amount of cores needed for MASTERWORKING a weapon or armor piece. Imagine having to choose between masterworking weapon's? Something pretty basic... That sounds more of a "Meaningful" decision than "Do I want to persist with using trash gear until I reach to power cap, then infuse once it doesn't really matter any more?" It keeps the grind in the game, and the need for EC management, but not at the expense of basic fun and usability. Of course I know this will catch it's fair share of anger from the sweaty crowd... But I'm trying to think of anything that could be seen as an acceptable compromise. Just remember, the "casual" among the community make up the majority. No majority, no income. No income, no game. I have left the game because I'm burned out just trying to keep up my preferred build (amongst other things, but this is a major contributor), and I really just want to be able to do that playing the game the way I want... Not the way Bungie wants.

22 RepliesBlah blah blah. Another non issue. I'm currently 696 and sat on approx 1170 cores.

1 ReplyDaily reminder of all the Top 5 fan boy excuses from the fanboys; Buuuut PowerHouse Joosshhh! 1. If you don't infuse every 1 LL of course you'll have enough! 2. Why are you wasting cores infusing anything before hitting max LL? Just use whatever highest weapons you have. 3. This isn't a game for entitled, lazy snowflakes looking for everything handed to them. A little work won't kill you. 4. Enhancement Cores are easy to get, I play for five minutes a day and I get 500. 5. Its Bungie's game and they don't care what you whiny babies think. Play the game or gtfo.

Just your daily +1.

1 ReplyCores only restrict players. They serve only to frustrate people who dont have hours and hours to play, which unfortunately is most of the player base.
-
1 ReplyJust your daily reminder that bungie does not care about its players.

I refuse to use them

This is a well done video. Explains why I no longer play Destiny 2 (and am going to purchase the Division)

19 RepliesEdited by TheBostonbean: 3/19/2019 3:46:22 PMEach time I log into Destiny the first thing I do is go to Spider and buy 3 Enhancement cores. I also pickup cores here and there when dismantling weapons I don't want or completing those blue bounties that pop up. There is also Matterware (I think that is what it is called} that will give you cores. I judicially decide what I want to infuse and when. I do not infuse something that will upgrade an item only one or two levels. Yes, it takes some thought but not that hard.
-
It's just the way Bungie wants you to play their game. There is no other reason.

3 RepliesOh god, you linked one of the dumbest destiny youtubers on the face of the earth. Take absolutely EVERYTHING that guy says with a greain of huge salt. Cores do not hurt infusion. Its simple as that you lost the argument a long time ago. Bungie is not looking to take cores away from infusion, so how about suggestion areas where you think they could add cores to the game. Keep in mind: The only players struggling with cores are new ones, or those that dont play a lot, which is understanable and thats why we should look into adding more "faster" core methods like adding them to the weekly milestones so those players can get more. As for the rest of us, well...if you dont have 300+ cores by the end of the season youre playing wrong, there are so many sources for cores now including: - Spider (if you dont have many shards you can at least buy the 10/20 one) - Scrapper bounties (very common, gives you 1 or 2) - Events (the dawning / crimson days gave loads of cores but isnt around right now) - Spider bounties (gives a few cores if you can be bothered to do them) - Clan bounties (once your clan reaches the appropriete level thats an extra 12 cores per week) - Dismantling stuff (just in general, you can get quite a few over time) - Crucible rank up (every major tier gets you cores for free) - Masterworked gear (quite common now-a-days especially from raids which dismantle into 7 cores) - Shard/Core flip (if all else fails this is your sure-fire way to endlessly get cores by using the spider to trade legendary shards for simulant seeds, trading those seeds to Vance for gear and dismantling them to regain shards and get cores).
