As the title says, it really doesn't feel rewarding to grind strikes for hours on end to hand in all your tokens in the hopes of getting the weapon you're chasing and receiving nothing but useless armor.

Hey all, Thank you for the feedback. We are currently collecting feedback on vendor purchases - please sound off if you have any other feedback items! A few notes that I currently have from this thread (and a few over the last week) - while this is a very small collection of feedback points, these are simply topics being given to the team. We may be unable to address them at this time, but we'll give you updates when information is available.
• Option to choose between Weapons and Armor at vendors with reputation packages (Vanguard, Crucible) • Better chances for Gunsmith weapons when exchanging materials (or only Gunsmith weapons available from this vendor) • More Gunsmith reputation gains for Weapon Telemetries • Option to earn Mod Components (or Enhancement Cores) from the Gunsmith
It’s set up this way to keep you playing as long as possible before getting what you actually want. I swear it feels like D2 should have came out before D1 with all the shit left out of D2 that worked good in D1.
-
Turn in 200 tokens and you get 3 warlock bonds 2 pairs of boots 3 toil and trouble a helmet 3 gauntlets and a chest piece aka weapon parts and shards
-
no, the point is to waste your time. They will lie and say it isn't but the system is built to not work in your favor.
-
They won't do this for the simple fact it'll speed up the grind, and the slow, boring grind is all this game has left.

I had an idea about armor ornaments and making year one armore relevant again. I thought it could go well with this idea too, like making a third option of choosing year one armor packages as ornaments for current armor. Check it out https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/251388570/0/0
-
Give the Triumph armor you made us grind for Park so we can actually use it for more than the 3 weeks that you made it relevant
-
Choose or Trade in. for a Core.
-
Ah...the good old days. Yes, that was a huge improvement and would be most welcomed in D2.
-
This is one of those HUGE improvements that came to Destiny but somehow didn't make it into the sequel. And for some inexcusable reason, still hasn't been implemented half way though year 2 of D2.
-
That would lower the rng on how much time you spend grinding. So no. -Bungor
-
That won't be enough with this garbage system. Even if I pick armor I'll get the exact same chest piece with the same roll 10 times in a row. I need to pick specifically weapon/type or armor/piece other than that this will not fix anything.
-
No man’s sky is launching its online mode later this summer for free, I would rather spend my money on that then purchasing the current content being released in d2 now. Sure forsaken is a step in the right direction. But one would think with all the steps in the right direction they have taken, this game would be as good as d1 now but it isn’t even close
-
Oh boy. I forgot we use to have choice.
-
Big thumbs up. It’s no fun trying to get a service revolver and getting 5 pairs of the same vanguard legs in a row.
-
I wasted 1500 tokens yesterday looking for a good Revolver Got the Zavala roll 2 times And 2 other shit rolls And like 50 pieces of gear that I insta deleted
-
Many things were better in the past. They're just increasing the grind and making it more frustrating for the player by not giving us the choice to choose. Only a small portion of the weapons are effective in this game and the rest suck which is why i agree that we should get to choose our reward. This would help with LL increase as well, currently powerful engrams drop a random weapon or armour which i find to be ridiculous. The reason it's stupid is because if you're trying to increase your LL and you get something you don't need, that's time wasted and a valuable engram lost.
-
This is good feedback
-
The thing is that worked in d1 because you could infuse armour across all classes, now because you can only move weapons to your lower level character the choice would be obvious and everyone would pick armour until all 5 slots are maxed.
-
On that note, why not also add "frames" to vendors, similar to Ada. For twice the cost of a rank up package, let me buy a Nameless Midnight Frame that requires me to get 50 precision kills with scouts in strikes. Numbers might need to be tweaked or frames limited by rotation, but at least we're playing the content for that vendor with specific goals in mind. The large number of available drops from each vendor, plus random rolls, makes RNG extremely fickle.
-
There are times I need four armour pieces from powerful rewards and get a weapon 6 times in a row instead
-
Yes sucks getting the same legs over and over
-
It would be really nice to have the option to choose between just getting a random weapon or random armor piece. For me, that’d be enough.
-
nope, because then we would have an efficient grinding process.
-
That Bungie no longer exists. But the new Bungie can and probably will sell this D1 pro back to us in a future DLC...
-
Bungie has amnesia and don’t remember this from Destiny 1.
