Wow you guys ruined that whisper gun
So I say this amusingly. Because it dose not really matter to me as I never used it anyway. But I just used the whipser after idk how long. And wow you nerfed that ammo capacity into the ground. Its laughable. That weapons useless now unless you make all your hits head shots. You guys at bungie wow. After all the struggle people went to to get that weapon. You should really really think twice about nerfing these penile or quest weapons people invest hours of there lives earning. It really takes away from the game. And your enthusiasm for it. Why grind for something to be obsolete a month later. Because of you guys. You should look at better solutions then nerf and ammo deductions. It's ok to tell people to get good. It's a shooter you csnt have everything handed to you.
I just got my ass handed to me in competitive because everyone on the other team had thron and was team shotting. Like in the old mida days

You just gotta figure out a good strat and what weapon matchs up. There is always something. But I can see in a week or a month that's gonna be a thing. People complaining about that. And while I can honestly see why.
They should be telling you to introduce a new weapon that's on point with thron. Or a few give people options on how to deal with teams with that. Other then having that weapon your self. Maybe your not great with hand cannons. My but dont nerf it. That's never the answer

7 RepliesIt's quite annoying that the people who are in defense of the nerf only use boss DPS + unlimited ammo as their excuse to say the nerf is okay. Wtf it's a pinnicle weapon. IT IS A SNIPER AND HAS OTHER USES THAN JUST BOSS FIGHTS AND THAT'S WHY PEOPLE AREN'T HAPPY. Want to just free roam planets with Whisper and just wander around the planets shooting stuff just for fun? Too bad '[i]hIt yoUr CriTs you have UnLiMITEd aMmo foR bOsSeS[/i]' it literally doesn't stop people from sitting in the back during boss fights and doing the exact same thing you say it prevents, what it does do though is stop people from just using the weapon for enjoyment and no ulterior motive. I normally don't really care about weapon adjustments much and people who aren't happy with changes but, this is pretty ridiculous to have 9 shots especially when there is maybe one or two enemies in the area and a third crit is not even available.

This gun has received 2 nerfs so far.... the ammo and the forgotten boxbreathing nerf. This gun took me 3 weeks and many runs to max it out. Now it's just a shell. I havent used the gun in about 4 months anyway but this solidifies I can delete it out of my inventory never to be used again. Reducing ammo is just stupid. It's for PvE. Folks dont even use it in Gambit Prime. Such a stupid stupid stupid nerf!!

3 RepliesIs this really, truly that big of an issue for people? Where exactly were you using it? I dont know personally I never liked it going back to D1. I always preferred Sleeper and a nice Stare with triple tap and spray and play. But seriously I use it for Insurrection Prime and the Bergusia tank and that's pretty much it. And both times you really shouldn't need more than 6 shots assuming you mess up white nail once. Between Fallen armaments and also using Tatara Gaze for interrupts it's never been an issue of running out of ammo. Put on 2 sniper reserves and you have 12 shots.

[/quote] The nerfs occurred so players wouldn't make a mockery of the new Gambit Prime mode - a mode that few if any will be playing three weeks from now. Poor effort, Bungie.

I totally agree. I used o have it equipped all the time. I loved it. Then I couldn’t believe it after the update it only has nine shots! Stupid as hell. I don’t care what anybody on here is saying about agreeing with that ridiculous nerf. That weapon was crazy hard to get not to mention weeks worth of grinding. Anything that hard to get is deserving of being a lil OP. And that goes for any weapon in the game. If it takes weeks and weeks and crazy grinding to obtain it should be $&@!&$ amazing

Imo they should just change white nail to be 3 precision shots without reloading or switching weapons to make it more forgiving, but keep the ammo capacity low.

I see and understand your point of view sweetsaucemcgee. With that said, here is another point of view: WotW had to much ammo, was very forgiving, and has a catalyst where you do 50% more damage with whispered breathing! With Solar singe active Whisper is a DPS monster. Bringing the ammo down to 9 makes the weapon less of a crutch and more of a situational weapon(as it should be). Stay frosty and happy looting. PS: You calling people names and responding with negative responses just feeds the trolls!

3 RepliesIt's still usable, but ONLY for players skilled enough to headshoot infallibly. And only against bosses or faraway majors, since I think the three headshots for White Nail have to be close together. Don't know why they nerfed it, it wasn't overpowered in PvP.

5 RepliesDude, you even admitted to not using it, so how can you have any idea what your talking about? Listen it's not really a nerf because as long as your a good shot it's Exotic ability puts the ammo back in the clip. It's a precision weapon meant for people who are good at landing headshots with Snipers. Last time I checked it has the highest precision damage of any gun and if your chaining headshots on a boss it can melt most of them. All this did was emphasize getting those headshots which if your using it, then you should be any way. Otherwise you'd be using it wrong.

You mean they brought a gun with potentially unlimited ammo in line? Shocking it took them this long. Watching people blow through content because they just sit in the back of the map and crit unlimitedly was absurd to begin with. Power weapons are supposed to help you, not carry you.

Was a perfect tank buster. Bungie first took away the infinite ammo, and made it pull from reserves. I parked it in the vault and never touched it again. Then, they left it behind and made it obsolete. Then they reintroduced it as an exotic - calling it the Black Spindle, that worked just like the nerfed Black Hammer. So I never... used it. When the Whisper was introduced, I never tried to get it... Imagine why?

In short: It's useless unless you use it correctly, then it's still really good. Sounds fine to me.
