Yo. Days of Iron set, without ornaments, for Warlocks? Looked amazing in D1. All IB sets from D2 kinda suck tho, yeah.

I think they did really well with the season one armor set with the horns and season two was okay but then the fire nation(bungie) attacked and made everything look like it was drawn by a two year old. The season of the drifter one is a step up from the last three seasons.

The D1 Knight armor looked cool imo. The first Iron Banner armor from D2(Green Samurai armor) looked decent also. But the last few armor sets have been terrible. The red one, the set from last season and this season’s sets are horrible. They don’t even look like what Saladin and Efrideet look like.

You know usually I’d agree with you, the last few sets have been horrendous. But this seasons set I actually quite like.

Season 5 was a step in the right direction to me, because i'm a pleb for medieval-looking armour and it was slightly more that again, but now we've just kinda side-stepped with looking kinda modern, kinda eastern, doesn't look bad but doesn't look great either

Agreed. The silhouettes and general shapes of the armour looks awful, especially on female Guardians. I wish there was more regal or tattered sets, like ornate decorated Chinese styles, like all the swirls and golden accents, and medieval style armour that was still fantasy, but looked more realistic and appropriate for the classes. For example, have a more forward hooded assassin style for Hunters, more mage like robes and whatnot for Warlocks, and ornate knight armour for Titans that look like actual plate armour with more realistic pauldrons than the giant balloons we get. The proportions and shapes of the armour for this season are so weird and off.

It really depends on which armor for which class, and season, and Iron Banner event, Honestly the good knight armor was in Destiny 1 Iron Banner. High North Mountain Scandinavian/Germanic Tribes like such from the Rise of Iron Book/DLC content. While Destiny 2 Year 1 was the "Samurai" type with variations. Medieval like Armor is what we had for the last two seasons of Year 1 if I recall correctly... Year 2 on other hand has been I guess Western European later era? All of these had their nice variations of some parts, and some horrid ones (looking at the odd choice of some legs/boots on some classes and stuff) The whole Iron Banner looks are based on full body armor styles of old of full coverage with armor...but that does not mean we will not see variations that involve say Old World Roman/Greek Empire styles, Mideast or Indian, and such. We will probably not see anything Egyptian or the like because Trials of Osiris had those, so It just depends beyond that. If we get into some African, South-Central American, I'll be surprised due to it would have to be based on the idea that the Iron Lords maybe had more than 1 homebase, and that the time period meant learning different styles of combat, dealing with such. And the Fall of the Iron Lords of the Euro-Asia land mass resulted in a full collapse before the City became a thing. [spoiler]Why I didn't mention North America?, well Nukes, and the fact Gambit before Season of the Drifter sets seemed Native American type of clothing for the Hunter, while Warlock got...a coat missing his cowboy hat, and Titan...idk???? And IDK what to call our current Drifter Season set style...[/spoiler]

It wasn't technically Iron Banner Armor, as we could get them from that book whenever we wanted. I never liked the artistic look of the Iron Banner armor though and D2 only made my dislike of it worse.

Remember when there was actually iron lord themed shit linked to a dlc? How bout they do that but don’t link it to a dlc and link it to the game mode about the iron lords

It’s not the “design” team, it’s the art team. And yes, they need to stop using this derivative medieval reference. I miss the days of Spektar armor and Suros weapons. I don’t play Destiny to look like I stepped out of Dark Souls, I play to look like a future soldier. Some flair and additions are fine but I’d still like more of that futuristic sci fi look.
