I don’t know about you guys, but the Vanguard Pinnacle Scout, Oxygen SR3 feels pretty lackluster for a Pinnacle Weapon compared to The Recluse and 21% Delirium. For those of you that don’t know what this Scout does, it has your normal Dragonfly then a perk exclusive to the gun called Meganeura, which makes the dragonfly explosion radius bigger per precision shot you hit stacking up to 3 times. Sounds good right? Until you realize it’s in the precision archetype of scouts, meaning it cannot one shot normal red bar enemies. Considering Ace of Spades can do everything this Scout can but better, I believe it needs a buff. Maybe give it triple tap? Or Rampage? Rampage would seriously make this gun a top pick in pve, for me at least. Bungie devs, if you’re reading this, I appreciate your time and please consider buffing this weapon.

It is a disappointment. I can use a junk roll on a Kindled Orchid or Service Revolver and kill things 10x faster. That's even with putting a Dragonfly Spec mod on the Oxygen SR3. The blast you get from all three buffs.. stats... w/e you want to call it that is an explosion from a precision kill sucks. Even a double precision hit doesn't appear to kill a non shielded, non gold mob despite the explosion getting a supposed buff. Rampage, to reinforce what the op says, would be far better. Also... yeah Ace of Spades or even Sunshot does a far better job with less bullets.

It’s just crazy that the other pinnacle weapons are more than viable in, for the most part, all parts of the game. Sure it’s the easiest to get, but the Recluse is good in pve/p and Gambit. Same for 21% Delirium. They just need to buff the Oxygen. Hopefully they see this thread and express their thoughts

15 RepliesBoth vanguard weapons have been meh. And are very niche weapons. They should just move it up to a higher archetype. And instead of rampage give it the new killclip perk. That’d be nasty
-
1 ReplyThe whole issue with it is dragonfly is just lackluster in general and needs a buff to its blast radius
-
It's a scout so it's going to suck. The MIDA is an exotic scout and even that's crap.
-
6 RepliesAgreed. Made this same exact post on Day 1 of obtaining it. The optics are garbage. The effectiveness at range is garbage without Explosive Payload. The Dragonfly perk should be baked into the Meganeura so we could get either Rampage or Triple Tap/Fourths time the Charm. It would also benefit from having Armor-Piercing Rounds. What makes the gun garbage is how Scout Rifles lack any damage. They finally allowed High Impact Scout Rifles to finally be able to one shot Vandals and Acolytes, but this Scout Rifle isn't a High Impact. 150 RPM Scout Rifles should hit as hard as a 140 RPM Hand Cannon 180 RPM Scout Rifles should hit as hard as a 150 RPM Hand Cannon. 200 RPM Scout Rifles should hit as hard as a 180 RPM Hand Cannon.

6 RepliesMeganeura doesn't increase the explosion radius, it only increases the damage of the Dragonfly explosion. Which is, in my opinion, great for groups, but.... that's it. Anywhere else, it feels and it is a regular Scout Rifle. Thing for me is, Scout Rifles are lackluster in general. They are good allrounder weapons for range, but they don't stand out much. Even most of the Exotic Scouts don't stand out too much. They have their specific use where they shine, but nothing else. Oxygen SR3 is the same. Personally, I would enable Oxygen SR3 to stack infinitely, until a Dragonfly Explosion is produced. Maybe let it increase Explosion Radius as well so that if you focus on a high health enemy and finally kill it (or shoot a random small mob) you delete half the enemies in the arena along with it. That would it be worth the bullets. Scout Rifles just need something really special to stand out. I don't know, a Scout that shoots three bullets at once in an angle, or it increases damage with range, anything to make it truly stand out. Note that this is and the view about the weapon is strictly from PvE. I haven't tried it in PvP yet, but I expect it to be very similar to any other Scout Rifle, save the occasional Dragonfly kill.

8 RepliesThere is a scout rifle that one shots reds in PvE and has the range of a sniper and a fast reload. I won't say its name in order to protect it from the nerf police. That's the state of Bungie today; let them know that you like something and it's nerfed or removed.

2 RepliesIt just needs triple tap. It looks like Bungie is trying to recapture the Hung Jury with this gun, but there’s something missing. It has basically the same stats, and even one of the scopes Hung Jury had. The problem with it isn’t so much the gun as scout rifles in general. (But adding Triple Tap would make it a whole lot better.) (Also a quick tip: you need to add a dragonfly mod on it. It seems like Bungie tunes the weapon specifically around the mod. This is similar to how Breakneck needs Rampage Spec. The guns don’t need the mods to do well, but the mods make them so much better.)

1 ReplyIf it only had triple tap and max stability, It would feel so good...
Cough cough...hung jury...
3 RepliesBug out bag > the recluse. change my mind
-
No reason to use this over loaded question
-
4 RepliesMy subtle calamity with explosive head and firefly out performs oxygen in any engagement. I’d be happy with just giving oxygen a larger radius along with the increased damage.
-
I can’t attest to how lackluster the Oxygen Sr4 is because I don’t have it yet, but the recluse is kind of an unfair comparison to it because that thing is just an absolute monster and has its place in PvE as well and PvP
-
1 ReplyOnce again the pvp pinnacle weapon is stronger than the pve weapon. Scouts are in a weird place honestly. The damage some scouts do in pve is just at times subpar. Some cant even kill a shielded red bar with one mag. That epic nerf to scouts was utterly uncalled for and scouts have yet to even recover from it.
-
Just make it kinetic so it can be used with Loaded Question. We all love explosions
-
Considering you DON'T want it to one shot so you can take advantage of its unique perk... how is this an issue?
-
5 RepliesEdited by MarsBlk: 3/18/2019 4:34:54 AMIts a legendary, people. You're lucky it can do the crazy sh*t it can do. It matched with fighting lion? The loaded question? I mean... This is why you have exotics, right? Am I taking crazy pills here? I mean... Legendaries arent supposed to be insane, just... Wicked enough. The player is supposed to be the monster here, right? Its an aoe devil that leaves space for whatever exotic you want Not intentionally an apoligist here but... Do we really want to be in a pitfall where shit is just too easy?

- Update the perk so that it increases both the Dragonfly explosion damage and radius. - Increase the possible number of buff stacks from x3 to x10 or something. Imagine how awesome it'd be if you got a high stack by plinking away at a major or miniboss so that when you finally killed it it sent out a giant explosion that decimated any enemies in the immediate area.

1 ReplySomething about the targeting just feels off, especially at range. It's fun at midrange on the first phase of Reckoning, but it does so poorly against the snipers on the Bridge of Folly compared to Nameless Midnight. That's especially odd given the Oxygen has more range and AA than my Nameless Midnight. After 4 runs or so, I just changed to my Nameless Midnight with triple tap/rampage/cleanshot IS and a trust with dragonfly/rampage. It was far more consistent. Rampage might make it a monster, but triple tap would synergize well, assuming you couple dragonfly with the meganura perk.

7 RepliesAll scout rifles need buffed right now. I haven't used a scout rifle since Polaris Lance in warmind
-
2 RepliesToo much grind, not enough pay off, increase the pay off or decrease the grind.
-
I definitely needs a buff, maybe make the special perk something like the zen meteor from Destiny 1.
-
1 ReplyHow does Oxygen’s dragonfly explosion (including up to x3) compare to the explosion from firefly? Is x3 bigger and by how much because it would seem that if it’s still a poor version of Firefly then it’s not really worth the trouble.
-
Honestly I'd rather just use a bow than a scout rifle lol

3 RepliesAnyone try Oxygen with the Dragonfly mod? If so, what were the results?
