The last question is the most critical. There is no reason whatsoever that a player would randomly end up looking or finding the area the Thorn quest starts. It wouldn't need to be anything more than a series of hints or even riddles from an npc to start the search. If the goal is to force players to hop on the internet instead if playing the game there is a problem.
