Last official communication from Bungie that I can find on this was from November of 2018. That's 4 months since the last communication and 5 since they broke it. You guys are probably tired of hearing from me about this, but I'll tell you why it's such a big deal for me: When I heard D2 was going to support HDR on PS4 Pro back before it launched, I bought an HDR tv and upgraded to a PS4 Pro. I did that JUST FOR DESTINY 2. And, for awhile, it was absolutely gorgeous.
Now, it's broken to the point of being unusable. Bungie has acknowledged this issue. But they either aren't doing anything about it, or they aren't being forthcoming with any information about it. Or they aren't being forthcoming with any information about not doing anything about it.
I don't expect this to be fixed overnight. But we're approaching 6 months, and I'd would at least like an actual update on this (NOT a forum mod/helper/ninja/whatever telling me Bungie is aware of the issue and working on it - we all know that).

I think it might be fixed! Sort of... Although sometimes the responsiveness is a little slower still. Anyway, for me it it seems much better (less dark) than before.

7 RepliesMovement and responsiveness while HDR is active is very bad. I’d never get to enjoy HDR on destiny 2.

4 RepliesIt was absolutely perfect before however people didn’t understand HDR. It can’t be set in game with settings. It is completely reliant on your monitor and I completely agree. My HDR looked amazing and now it is unusable. If people don’t understand HDR then don’t use it. You can’t put a bandage onto a setting that either understand or you don’t. You educate yourself right use regular settings.

3 RepliesI fixed it myself. Settings HDR Disable. Feel free to use this yourself after payment of £1 into my PayPal account.

2 RepliesHere's the update: Bungie doesn't care about its player base or this game at this point.

Unfortunately, that is all you'll get. Someone tweeted at Bungie Help and support a little while ago (I remember seeing the tweet but can't locate it because I'm probably senile) and they simply replied 'we are aware and are working on it.' That's all you'll really get and while I agree wholeheartedly with you, it's where we are at this point.
