ENHANCEMENT CORES ARE STILL A PROBLEM
The name change didn’t the fix the underlying issue. The addition of bounties that give you 1 enhancement core didn’t fix the issue. Either enhancement cores need to be abundant in how they’re acquired or they need to be removed from infusion. We’re too busy trying to keep the armor and weapons we like to even be bothered trying to “enhance” them to their full master work or their full elemental resistance. I’m sorry but this system isn’t working and so it needs to change. If we didn’t have to use cores to keep our armor and weapons that have the perks we want then we would definitely be able to enhance them as you intended.
Edit: Let me make this clear since some people don’t seem to get the issue. The cost of enhancement cores during the enhancement process on top of infusion is too high for the number of enhancement cores that we acquire. The economy is messed up, plain and simple.
Edit 2: I’m seeing loads of likes on this post but a lot of toxic people coming in here with nothing to say besides the number of cores they have.

It’s very clear by how touchy this subject is for some reason and by the number of people are in favor of a change, that there’s definitely a problem.
Last edit: To anyone who actually thinks that the core economy isn’t horrible. Prove it. When I start to see power level 700 guardians, send me a screenshot of your guardians with :
1. Fully enhanced weapons in all slots (non-curated rolls).
2. Fully enhanced armor in all slots.
3. @700 power
4. For all your characters. (Because yes this is part of the reason why it’s a problem)
5. No exotics (self evident, I would hope)
You could definitely shut me up if you manage to do this with each armor set from the new gambit prime activity (because it’s definitely intended that we have one of each set and also be as powerful as we can in Gambit prime)
If you can’t do this, then you were wrong all along. I’ll be waiting.

2 RepliesThey are not a problem if you play a lot. They’re bad for casuals. You know, the ones that play a couple of hours a day. I know people that have quit because of enhancement cores lol remove them from infusion and problem settled

1 ReplyValid points and I agree that if the economy was improved we would have a better time or you could say we’d have fewer guardians leaving >< To be truthful every legendary regardless of tier should give you 2-3 cores when dismantled.

I still can’t believe anyone in their right mind would ever think that changing the name would change how people feel about cores in infusion. Kinda makes me think someone took the short bus to work at bungie...... 😳 just sayin....

I’m absolutely shocked that bungie haven’t done exactly what they did in d1 with the nightfall loot. Adding say a drop of 25-50 cores as your actual reward from farming nightfalls seems like a very good start to fixing the problem. Like you said, either give players ways to get them or remove them entirely from infusion. In d1, if I got strange coins as my reward I was more excited than if I got like my 30th vanguard gun etc. Cores are even more valuable than exotics at this point. Added to the problem of nightfalls being pretty much pointless each week if you have all of the nightfall loot. So I would suggest this. A guaranteed 2-5 cores from every nightfall run from the boss kill. 2-3 cores guaranteed for dismantling exotics. An increased chance for 25-50 cores dropping from the end chest as your reward, no blues or useless duplicate vanguard legendaries. Reward sharding supposedly the rarest guns/armour in the game. Give a reason other than a powerful drop to run nightfalls.

My rng is terrible for almost everything, except cores. I see all the posts complaining about them, and with the way my usual rng for everything else is, I understand your feelings. This is the absolute truth, today alone, just playing the game, I had 14 cores drop. Then, I had 4 drop for breaking down weapons or armor, and I bought 2 from spider. 20 cores in about 4 hours of gaming, and this happens more often then not. The one thing I am lucky getting, I hardly use.

6 RepliesHere's the main point: The point is NOT that we don't know how to get cores, it's that the reason is pretty ridiculous WHY we have to get them in the first place. There's already too much artificial and inflated game time in the game as is. Whether necessary, unavoidable, or intended, there's already too much time wasters in what is ALREADY a time waster. I have all the cores I need. I can stare at Brother Vance's annoying fanatical face too, conjuring cores out of nothing. Stare at my inventory too, conjuring Mod components out of nothing. And see Aida throw them away like my time means nothing. But it's not why we bought the game. I'd like to play Gambit, but light level is relevant there so you go out of your way to find cores. You want to play Crucible but you want to masterwork your weapon, you go out of your way to find cores. Between quests like baryon boughs, patrols, cores, load time, errors, forge trips, match making, Blindwell reloads, forge match making reloads, tower back and forths etc etc etc. There's just too much "not playing the game" in this game. I don't know why anyone would want to defend cores unless they don't respect their time. You're not playing PVP, you're not even playing PVE. Just a high tech version of simon says. The guardian is a virtual gofer.

It was never an issue since it appeared during forsaken. Not a problem after BA (getting to 600 to 650). Getting to 700 is also not Going to be an issue in drifter wild. You dont really need players to have all 3 chars to reach at 700. Once you get one character to 700 then getting the other 2 will be much quicker. I mean if I've actually put any effort I've could have had all 3 characters at 650.

This game is all about constantly replacing your current gear with new-found better gear so yeah . . . cores need to be much more abundant
