Infusion core "MAX LIGHT" fans are willingly ignoring these facts:
No matter what you say, even if you personally like it, the current state of the game is in trouble numbers wise. This isn't good for our future.
We all strategically use cores. We already know not to pour our cores into everything.
The problem persists even after we reach max light. Want to play with the Suros regime? May be fun but not worth the cores. Get a cool lower level drop you want to play with? May not be worth the cores.
Stop telling us how to obtain cores. We all know the straight way and the Vance work around. All take time away from playing the game in a fun way. I don't think the fan base would have a problem with Spider bounties if you could earn the core through fun activities (strikes, crucible, planetary activities).
The infusion mechanism isn't bad. The process is. It has folks like me walking away from the game or reducing play to one character because even when I am max light I don't feel like grinding away to make the new drops max light.
That is the problem people! Things don't drop at my light. Most of my drops will be lower. But now I need to take that stupid max light edge transit to infuse the 20 point lower item I want to play with.
And for fVcks sake stop lying with statements like "I earned 100 in just two days using only my left thumb, while sleeping." We all know you are exaggerating.

Who is actually happy that cores are added to the game and thinks the change is better than it was without cores.

Masterwork Cores, or any Rose renamed, has no place in infusion of ordinary gear. Period. Renaming and repurposing Masterwork Cores to Infusion Cores was the difficult to create “new content” solution Bungie implemented. Pathetic... Only using more pathetic is its justification...

The armor gets a boost that no one feels and the weapons create orbs and get a mild stat boost. Basically, the reward at the end isn't even worth the grind or the headache. It fails on both fronts. Cores either need to be made as easily obtainable as other planetary materials and keep the same end result including infusion, or they need to be much harder to get and give you real advancements without being included for infusion -- the latter would require a reset of everyone's cores though. But Bungie has once again marketed them as something special to get for blind followers to chew on. I quit masterworking anything outside of a few god-rolled weapons for orb creation because the effects aren't noticeable in the slightest. It's once again turned into more of an appearance thing.

Move on; the system is broken. It's now called strategic infusion, when it should have been left alone as masterworking. Masterworking items was already strategic; this bullshit system just inflates player time.

For those of you who have <80 IQ, here's a list of tips: - Visit Spider every day and buy 1 core. - Visit Spider every week and buy his weekly bounties that reward cores. - Do scrapper bounties whenever you get them. - Dismantle legendaries that aren't higher than your current. DON'T infuse them into something lower just because you can. - When you infuse, pay attention to what you're infusing. If you often use a weapon that drops, infuse the new item into that. It doesn't cost cores that way.

You don't have a single Guardian over 650. We've had months to farm for materials. What's the problem? I've never heard a single person complain in game about cores and I raid with pugs every week. You are just complaining to garner upvotes as if this is Reddit.

EDIT: I'd rather Bungie fix issues like; no content, recycled assets, build diversity within subclasses, more interesting end game etc etc etc over some not game breaking economy system that's vaugley relevant in the current game climate where LL is not really important over 650. Its another bandwagon bs and everyone wanders why Bungie avoid their own forum.

2 RepliesFirstly, I can empathise, I really see a lot of people who struggle with this particular mat... and if it means people are dropping off, I do actually agree that player count is a problem! However, and please treat this as just my opinion: I am not bothered by enhancement cores at all, for a number of reasons: The only time I blast through any is for masterworking some favourite weapons: that is a more significant cost, infusion is cheap in comparison... that means my masterworked weapons are all the more significant to me! I don't feel I need to be running max level (be it 700 or the highest I can actually achieve) on every activity... in fact there's only a handful of activities you would actually notice any difference! You can infuse gear at a cost of 5000 glimmer only - no cores!!! I'd admit this is restricted to how easily obtainable the gear is - I like reverie dawn still, which drops from a large source of powerful quests/bounties per week (lucky me!). I've never farmed cores: I log in play what I want to play and if I get some along the way, great...not a big deal if I don't! When I do infuse weapons, it's usually exotics; the sort of thing you think to yourself 'would be great to have' e.g. using Polaris lance for the begusia forge boss seemed like a great idea... I could have pulled it from collections and left it as is: 2/3 power level drop overall would have been doable... but I really like the gun, so why not!!

We all know you are exaggerating.[/quote] Does raids gets 5 curated rolls 35 cores dismantles extra oxygens that you get by picking up the quest on other characters 14 more cores used 22 of my finest matter weave so 35+14+22= 71 cores in 1 day hmm wouldn’t be to much harder to get 29 more cores hell buy 2 from spider each day now your down to 25

19 RepliesThe cores are out there for the taking, you just have to put in the grind if you want them. I play my game according to the grind I want to do. I don’t put any extra effort into HVT bounties, just pick the ones for where I know I’m going. If they complete while I’m playing how I want to play, bonus. If they don’t, oh well 🤷♂️ What I do consciously do though, is spend accordingly. I don’t infuse constantly, think carefully about what I want to masterwork. Your own wants are what drives your grind, curb your spending and enjoy the game for what it is. You are creating this “battle” by wanting more than you’re willing to earn. Accept the rules and play by them, you’ll be a much happier guardian. Or continue fighting the brick wall that is bungie, your call.

If you grab back your Suros from the collections then it will be 670 if you’re 700 bringing you down maybe to 698 or 697

2 RepliesCould you just give it up already. You have one character close to 650. The people who tell you they come from playing the game, guess what they play the game and have 3 characters at max light. They don’t go out and do core runs everyday or even every week. They come from playing game. I have been infusing weapons everyday since this release (SotD) and I still have more cores than I started with. I’m have no reason to lie. If anything cores are dropping more frequently since this season started.

I played this dlc without infusing anything. My cores have gone up by 75, and I haven't noticed any dropoff in performance or enjoyment. Weird.
