Credit Resets
Good evening,
We are in the process of applying credit resets to approximately 15,000 users who we have identified as the most egregious Challenge Reset abusers.
A one day credit earning ban has also been applied, mostly to ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.
As with any such measure, we have taken the time to carefully select our criteria to eliminate false positives.
A more comprehensive pass will be occuring in the coming week as our automated Banhammer mechanisms grow accurate enough to satisfy our high bar for burden of proof. If you are thinking about getting an easy 50k credits by using this exploit, I would strongly advise you to reconsider.

a) Playing too much Gruntpocalypse (no such thing!)
b) Using the target locator too much (no such thing!)
Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via itentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects.)
Spot checks have revealed the telltale signature of this behavior on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests of innocence. We aren't.
[b]Edit 2[/b]:
1) If you have lost your Legendary Helmet or any other downloadable offers, you can re-download them via your Download History. We're not sure this is affecting anyone (we haven't reproduced it internally), but just in case it is, give this a try.
2) We won't be resetting Commendations, as we do not feel that the exploit used affected them. It would not be fair to people who did use the exploit but who wish to retain the record of their playstyle, and we cannot differentiate between the two systematically. Sorry.

Agree with what most have said in here, not bothered about the reset since i wasn't interested and didn't buy a single thing from the armory and i don't obsess over ranks either, but Bungie at times are too arrogant, instead of fixing their mistakes they will talk about the banhammer in such arrogant fashion it's laughable, and then ban players without much warning (a small post on a forum most of the userbase dosn't visit dosn't count), they could have just put a warning at the start of Reach, but nah, just ban people for your screw ups, easier option i guess.

well bungie, first off i would like to start by saying, F*** Y**. and second of all, its your own dam fault this happen, maybe if you ironed out all your bugs in the testing stages. this wouldn't have been a problem. So now Modern warfare 2 is going to have another 15000 people playing it. because for dam sure. i'm done with your broken excuse for a game. This was supposed to be the last good halo. I was wrongfully rank reset. I was playing gamebattles on Reach a week and a half ago and this clan stole my account while I was playing with my clan. I hadn't realized I had my account stolen until I got back from my 3 day vacation to Tampa, Florida. Before I had my account stolen, I was a major grade 1 because I played Gruntpocalypse for a long time. I also did sword base farming because I saw it on the Bungie forums. I called microsoft and got my account back about 3 days ago. I was a Lt colonel grade 3 and I had other things glitched and hacked. I was wrongfully reset, please restore my rank, thank you.

Bungie should have drawn a line in the sand, laid down some rules, and moved on from here. You cannot punish people retroactively. That's one of the most basic concepts of law. A very bad decision on bungie's part, and one which has really dinted a lot of enthusiasm for this game. It's only been out two weeks. You capped the ranks anyway. There was just no need for this very harsh measure.

WHY!!! We just wanted to see the good armors and earn up to the armors price. We should get our credits back. We promise we'll never do it again. We wanted cool armors. You guys screwed up with cr prices. Soon "Call of Duty Black Ops" will become the best game. Give us back our credits, ranks, and armors or most of your bungie fans will quit playing Halo, FOREVER!!!

They did not. Instead they just ban people in their thousands. Diplomatic bungie are not.

This is the stupidest thing that has ever happened in halo history. Bungie specifically said that they don't care how we earn our credits as long as we do not go over the credit cap of 60,000. after i saw that i started to do it and nothing happened. i noticed that Bungie stopped making campaign challenges and "any game mode" challenges a couple of days ago, and i am fine with that, they should not reset my credits because of something that they said that i can do. this is complete bullpoop. i am done with the halo series. it went to poop after halo 2 anyways, whenever black ops comes out, this game will lose most of its players because Treyarch would never do some stupid poop like this. bye bye halo reach Wait should i give this game to my friend for 5 or 10 dollars i cant decide how much it is worth yet. i will probably just give it to him for free.

All i have to say is this is an outrage. I have done nothing. played legit and spent my free time out this incredibly below par game. What do i get for this credit banned reset and sent on my way. What did bungie get from us over 200 million dollars on the first day this is ridicules. I demand my credits, armor, and rank back. You have my money bungie isnt that all that matters its a damn video game get over your selves. If you put score attack as a playlist what cant i play it. You can max out your credits in 60 games. 60 thats it not like thats alot. lower the credit rate or its gonna happen. OR better yet fix the rank system put the number rank back in and let the problem solve its self. I want my credits or my money back or i will start a huge boycott of reach. i know people who run some pretty big tech forums. Wouldnt you just hate if all of them were against you.

Please explain how you can distinguish the difference between real lag, and this "Cheating" Where you say people disconnect their internet or w/e. I know from my own experience when i lag i lag hard for 30min to an hour, out of the 500k people who play your game i would think im not the only one with a 50mb DSL connection that can barley play Xbox live...... If you really are "investigating" and searching for false positives, then at least reset commendations so that the people who you don't find, can farm since you said that it allowed! Why was there never warnings? Everyday i read "Welcome to reach, before you jump online..... blah blah.." Yet it never said "We are banning for this, and this dont do it! I saw messages like that all the time in H3. I suggest you check out the large increase in copies of halo reach for sale on eBay, cause to be honest this is a big fail on your part, i am and will always be a bungie fan but seriously do you guys think for more than 10min before you do stuff like this?

GawLey pretty much summed it up, but anyways well maybe i wouldnt have boosted if damn party effect didnt cost so much. instead of making me catch my xbox on fire from playing so much dont make it 200000 cR or make me have to be a "major" to buy it, beacuase its a major pain in the ass
