Credit Resets
Good evening,
We are in the process of applying credit resets to approximately 15,000 users who we have identified as the most egregious Challenge Reset abusers.
A one day credit earning ban has also been applied, mostly to ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.
As with any such measure, we have taken the time to carefully select our criteria to eliminate false positives.
A more comprehensive pass will be occuring in the coming week as our automated Banhammer mechanisms grow accurate enough to satisfy our high bar for burden of proof. If you are thinking about getting an easy 50k credits by using this exploit, I would strongly advise you to reconsider.

[b]Edit 1[/b]: a point of clarification. No bans were handed out tonight for
a) Playing too much Gruntpocalypse (no such thing!)
b) Using the target locator too much (no such thing!)
Specifically, we targeted an exploit that allowed players to complete a Challenge 20+ times via itentional network manipulation (i.e., disconnects.)
Spot checks have revealed the telltale signature of this behavior on every denier so far, so don't be fooled by the protests of innocence. We aren't.
[b]Edit 2[/b]:
1) If you have lost your Legendary Helmet or any other downloadable offers, you can re-download them via your Download History. We're not sure this is affecting anyone (we haven't reproduced it internally), but just in case it is, give this a try.
2) We won't be resetting Commendations, as we do not feel that the exploit used affected them. It would not be fair to people who did use the exploit but who wish to retain the record of their playstyle, and we cannot differentiate between the two systematically. Sorry.

I hate douches. You're a douche. Ergo, you're ruining the game experience. It affects the game experience because the people who've spent hours and hours legitimately earning their credits can be bunny-hopped over by cheating -blam!-s who can't be bothered putting in the effort to get their rank. The cheaters get the armour, the cool effects, the ranks and the bragging rights, while the legitimate players spend hours trying to get credits the proper way just to keep up. In other words, the cheaters ruin the game experience for everyone. Kapiche?

It doesn't matter if it doesn't give you an advantage, you cheated. That's all there is to it.

First of all I did not do the whole challenge glitch and was not reset but here is my idea to bungie: 1. add up the total amount of time played by the glitchers. 2.then figure that every match takes (at the max) twenty minutes. 3. Then u can figure that the minimum amount of cR you get per match is 400 (this is very low and you had a very bad game if you get this low of total cR) 4. Bungie can then divide the amount of total time played by the twenty minutes. 5. You then set the ranks back accordinly 6.reset all armor For examply if i had 12 hrs played. I would then get a total of 14400 cR. This way you do not lose everything you have, yet you are still punished. I'll use nice, small words so that you can follow me. Ready? Challenge resetting gets you lots of credits. Credits get you new ranks and new armour. [b]If you cheat to get your credits, you don't deserve the ranks and armour.[/b] If you get punished for cheating, you don't get to whine and moan about how the punishment is unfair. Your global rank may not be a reflection of skill, but it is a measure of status. If you don't see the problem behind cheating to increase your game status, then there's nothing anyone can do for you - you're clearly too brain-dead to understand. To summarise in nice, simple terms: cheating = bad. Not cheating = good. Cheating = punishment. Not cheating = gloating rights. Got it?
