You can skip the entire gambit part of the expansion, as the gear is gambit specific. Then you left with 0 content for 3 months, how did Bungie not think of that?
After doing 10 matches and getting Thunderlorded for the n+1th time from the other side of the map I've dropped gambit faster than you can say "Breakneck Grind". Then I've realized there is nothing to do till the middle of the year, as Gambit specific armor has 0 effect on the other 75% of the game, and I can raise my lightlevel anyway. Not that it would matter any way, as all the content is completely outscaled at this point, so you dont even have to grind your gear up.
So the content is really, a few exotics, and Thorn...for 3 months...

Thorn is the only time me and most of my friends list will be playing D2 this season, when it's claimed back to other games. I hate gambit but instead of bitching I'm just not playing D2

How bout we revert to that? Maybe that's what you lot need before you realize that this is a PATCH UPDATE. ITS NOT A FULL EXPANSION. That's not coming til later. Content takes time. Don't get me wrong I'd like a new strike too, but considering the fact that they added quite a few in forsaken....I'm not so butthurt about it. Also, the Gambit guns come with cool perks like...multi kill clip. I have an smg with it. It's disgusting.

2 RepliesI really think they should incorporate armor sets, similar to how Gambit Armor works, for the rest of the game as well. It would make everything more interesting. Literally, everything. We would truly start feeling like an MMO at that point.

2 RepliesIf it was season of the vanguard would I expect lots of new crucible content? Gambit prime isn’t that bad even losing is still rewarding and high value targets still can drop rewards. So wining doesn’t matter as much so overall i think its fine it’s gambit centered.

Played two gambit prime matches ……they were the absolute WORST experience I have had in destiny,anyways completed a bounty finally and went to do reckoning found a team, the catch? 30 secs on the clock, ok no biggie I can redo it it’s not that bad, gets one shotted by a hobgoblin, that’s it I’m done gambit prime sucks reckoning sucks. WHY BUNGIE WHY?

The revelry, invitation of the nine, the "allegiance" quest...all things coming in the next couple of weeks that have nothing to do with gambit. And the armor is literally the same as all other armor, you just get an extra bonus in gambit for wearing a full set. Same number of perks, same kind of perks, same elemental resistance, literally the SAME THING. You can wear it anywhereand it's use is exactly the same as any other set. So, you don't like gambit (probably should have expected invasions to be a thing but I digress), that doesn't mean you get to make false claims about there being nothing for 3 months lol

Remember taken king when that was around for over a year with nothing new to do? Well we are at the taken king again but with things being added to the end game to keep it semi fresh.

Ah yes, being mad that a drifter themed expansion is cored around gambit. Don’t get me wrong I’m pissed there’s no new crucible maps, no new strikes and things of the such but getting up in arms over something the entire community knew about is dumb and childish

They are just doing their bit to help us by dropping another piece of content that, at best, is an exercise in turd polishing. (By that, I mean Gambit Prime, although I would not disagree with anyone who thinks the entire lifecycle of D2 is Bungo polishing the abysmal launch turd we were served up.) It's no coincidence that 'Gambit' rhymes with 'shit'.
