I hate the mode but I figure I'd point out that you don't need to stay in the circle to keep the slayer buff.

No, that’s why I said it may change as players strat up a bit. Right now though it’s almost a lock that players will understandably stay in close proximity to the buff so they can logically dip in an out as the buff wears off.
