Getting Banned for being DDOS'd
Bungie have now banned me from matchmaking for 2 months due to them thinking that after I have been DDOS'd it was my fault, I talk about it a bit more on my twitter thread (linked at the bottom) but im essence it goes like this.
I was playing comp, I lag out, interent completely dies, bungie use 4 error codes as my problem, I have to fully reconnect, destiny then tries to put me back in the game, error codes me again. 1 day later fully banned from all matchmaking, can't even sign into the game, can't even appeal the ban. Ridiculous.
All the evidence is in the video that I haven't done anything yet still nothing will be done about this.
Anyone that can help please do.

6 RepliesBeen restricted for 2 months for my internet connection. Ping is fine. Internet is fine. Wired connection. Still restricted. When they restricted me that was the final straw. Definitely not playing jokers wild when they restrict their playerbase from pvp because they dont have dedicated servers. This game is dead. Play apex or anthem. Been having alot of fun with both.

This is exactly why naming and shaming is prohibited on the forums. I am unable to find another comp match the other team played where anyone on the opposing team disconnected (meaning they don't ddos, a single disconnect every so often means nothing). On top of that, you were the only one who disconnected during that match and the other team isn't even half bad statiscally. Please actually do research before you blame your disconnect on the enemy team.

Ask Coz to bring it to the developers and sandbox team. Likely result will be you'll get band for another 4 months with a link to the check your internet help desk. Oh and you'll have to wait 6 months before they address this. So play Apex would be my recommendation.

7 RepliesI’m sorry but there’s a fairly safe way to not get ddos’ed, reported or hate mailed. Don’t play sweaty pvp modes. Bungie encourage this kind of behaviour by hiding rewards behind pvp. Not everyone can “git gud” so they feel cheating is the way to get the rewards they crave. Others are just trolls who get off on upsetting others. The nearest to this you get in pve is when someone tries to kill the baddies before you, you can just move away or travel to a new zone.

1 ReplyVideo doesn’t prove you getting banned at all...it’s a warning. You didn’t get banned from that incident, it is multiple reports on your profile that got Bungie’s attention. You basically have to be reported multiple times for them to go and investigate your profile and account. It’s not something that’s done in a day, takes time. That was one of the fastest I’ve seen anyone get back online after getting “DDoS”.

2 RepliesWell your not alone I was on comp playing a few matches and then turn off my ps4 and went on vacations, i returned today to see that i was banned, cant play pvp, gambit... this was the deciding move for me. pc players see u in a few days

12 RepliesYou haven't been ddos'ed. Your connection is just horrible, so you deserve to be banned. Fix your connection, man. Get rid of wifi and use an ethernet cable. If you think your router is too far for wired, I really wonder why you think wifi would work better. Wifi is the root of all evil. Buy an ethernet cable and a whole new world will open up for you. Oh, and let me warn you in advance, you will get killed much more often since people will see you not lagging anymore.

You were running Wifi. Not only were you playing a P2P game, but you were also downloading. I run wifi once in a while, but I stay out of PvP and Gambit because I know my wifi isn't as good as wired.

I get it, you can’t download hitman. Plain and simple so atleast after the 100th notification, you cancelled it. Been on connected to WI FI is your first issue. Second is , don’t download hitman
