If it is valued but a large part of the community then why are Crucible numbers at historic lows?

Because the playlist has gotten practically ZERO attention from the developers in the past few months. No sandbox updates in six months! Some PvP shooters get an update almost every WEEK. No new maps, modes, armor, weapons, NOTHING. Really, it's a testament to how good Crucible is, and how passionate and devoted the PvP community is, that it's still hitting nearly 300K players despite getting zero love from Bungie. Remember when Forsaken dropped? Crucible numbers hit 1 million. When PvP gets consistent attention and tuning, PEOPLE PLAY IT. ANY game or playlist that is totally neglected will suffer, and not just PvP. That's just how it works.

Very true. Just saw a comment from someone from yesterday that said the numbers were around 230-240k across three platforms combined on some Guardian GG, whatever that is. He said it was around 75-80k on Xbox. Those kinds of numbers don’t really scream “important to the game”. Though all game numbers for 2 have been pretty terrible for a long while now. I think people should just accept that unless major changes and overhauls that have been asked for since 9/2017 show up in game that 2 and quite possibly the Destiny universe is done. Because I doubt the remaining fans that still log in will carry the financial burden of this game nor do I think it will be easy to acquire new players to give up money to company that pissed on 14 million consumers(most of them).
