Bioware making Bungie look good

Think of all the cheeses and exploits in PvE activities in Destiny over the years. Not one person was banned for using them , even the SRL book glitch, which cost Bungie and Activision real money. Why?, because Bungie didn't blame players for there mistakes. Bioware, on the other hand , is banning people for farming world chests during a stronghold, something they coded into the game, but never playtested. Even people who love Anthem and are sinking hundreds of hours into it. EA and Bioware need every drop of Goodwill they can get right now, and there actions lately are not helping. If this keeps up, Anthem will die, or atleast fade out of relevance and Bioware will be scrapped and absorbed into Dice, the only been non-sports developer they have left

  • Ok first off the guy who got banned was done so for a lot worse than you make it out While I don’t agree with a permanent ban(that should be for blatant cheaters and hackers) he brought it on himself when he decided to broadcast more than he be exploit As for anthem itself apart from this banning thing the game has no where to go but up if BioWare get this month done right. Jokers wild has gotten off to a mild start with major nerfs etc and bungies track record in this department is not good to put it mildly Both games can turn the start around within a few weeks if they are smart Anthem needs to prove it can climb back to its hype and destiny needs to keep the balance cause it’s a long fall from grace

  • I kinda wish Anthem didn't flop as hard as it did. I was looking forward to a month or two of people who like Destiny playing instead of being cluttered up with those "every other game sucks so I might as well come to these free forums and show my disdain". "Hey Go over to the Anthem forums and Complain" --Oh wait, Bioware conveniently doesn't have an Anthem forums. They do for their SWTOR game but you have to be a paid subscriber to post there.

It took a solid six months for destiny 1 to be playable because Bungle had to release stability patches and nerfs and buffs to assorted weapons that were significantly underpowered or overpowered, some weapons were actually broken at this stage to a point they never recovered while others were made far too powerful so the rebalance went on for well over a year later. Anthem literally just came out. Calm the hell down. It's only been out for like a week, and there's a hell of a lot more content to play through than Destiny had when it first released as well.

        • Which is why....five years into this franchise....it still has a cheating and a DDoS problem affecting its PVP. ...as well as why those same achievement books are no longer part of the game. Bungie doesn't punish the cheaters. They punish the entire community by removing the things that cheaters are exploiting from the game. I get REALLY tired of you kids acting as though you aren't responsible for your own actions....and choices. Lets get a few things clear. 1. Massive also banned people for taking advantage of exploits. 2. You don't own the game. You bought a license to PLAY the game, which the developer (who does own the game) can revoke. 3. If you're a streamer the game doesn't OWE you a living. Especially if that "living" entails INTENTIONALLY teaching other people how to break the game----and reducing the value of that game to its owner----FOR MONEY. Lets not pretend that this was some average gamer minding their own business at home...and just suddenly got banned. This was someone who was trying to earn a living breaking a game that belonged to someone else. 4. Its within BioWare's rights as the owner of the game to ban someone who is behaving in a way that is destructive to the game. Is the exploit present in the game? Yes. But it was the streamer's CHOICE to make use of it....and to show other people how to do it.

          • You do know it wasn't for loot routes and the stronghold was a serious exploit especially at the gm1 or higher the boss was a 100% masterwork or better drop people were leaving and rejoining right at the boss fight basically breaking the loot economy like when people exploited a dupe system through third parties to get to max level in days. Bungie banned for that But yes the instant bans for some is dumb maybe a temporary and warning but perm was stupid. But gladd also offended with the unlimited super glitch once again a warning maybe extended temp ban but they even stated in terms and agreements exploits of any kind are ban able so yes it was stupid for the severity but within agreed on rules.

          • Anthem is awesome and they seem to be able to fix problems a lot faster than bungie can. Maybe bungie will pick up a couple of tips from anthem. Doesn't matter now I have two fun games to play

Definitely don't agree with them banning over exploits, but also not really gonna support that either. That's always a do at your own risk type of thing. Risk/Reward Unfortunately the risk was too high. Not a lot of sympathy, therefore I'm not outraged at Bioware. Mountain out of a molehill type of thing honestly.

BioWare is also much quicker at releasing bug fixes then Bungie.

Given that the Anthem devs are actually listening to players and pushing out updates to fix what's broken, I would say that puts them way ahead of Bungie, who's standard reply to everything is: "We hear you, and we don't care." As a side note, that game is broken AF and makes Destiny's storytelling look good, but given that it took over a year for D2 to be in a state even close to "good" and the fact that less than 6 months after that player population has dwindled again, I'm willing to be that within a year Anthem will be in a good spot. Does that mean it will bring back players? I doubt it, much like the changes to D2 and the Division were too little, too late, but I guess we'll see?

I can't remember the exact exploit(s), but im absolutely positive that bungie has banned players for exploits before. Bungie did "blame players for their mistakes" and i remember players saying exactly what you're saying lol. How long have you been here again? Im very much enjoying anthem and all my friends are too. We're all long time destiny players. I havent played destiny since anthem launched. With division 2 about to drop, it will be a while before i come back to destiny 2, if at all. I'll keep checking back to see if things have changed for the positive around here, but so far, they havent.

                      • I have to admit, Anthem is a lot fun (despite the often kick back to XBX home screen), but it doesn't have the appeal of Destiny. Lots of load screens, continually going back for contracts (I guess they do that because you are returned to Fort Tarsis after each contract), but it would be nice to get all "weekly or daily's" at once so I don't have to run all over the Fort to get each one of them. Over time it may get better, but as for now it's more of a distraction until the next DLC for Destiny. Not saying it is a bad game at all, like I said it is fun, but it doesn't flow or have the "mystery" that Destiny has going for it. I would definitely recommend getting the vanilla version and playing it. VERY different experience with flying (which I do love). It would be nice if they left the demo playable for those thinking about getting it (they may have I'm not sure).

                        • Anthem is an embarrassment to the Looter Shooter genre as a whole. Not only being perhaps the worst release of 2019 so far but also an example to both Ubisoft and Bungie that surely they can't screw up more than Bioware. Yes Destiny 2's last 2 seasons and The Division 2 are bound to have their problems but they have a community that cares and devs that don't want a halfassed product especially Bungie as Season Of The Drifter looks like it will change the game for everyone even people like me who took a break because Season Of The Forge was frankly terrible having that Catch Up Mechanic and the new MOBA take on Gambit is far more interesting than siting in a Forge and using that as the main means of gaining Light Levels Whereas Anthem has a terrible story only being rivaled by The Division 1 and Destiny 1 Vanilla, Literally no end game and a progression system that is insulting rather than actually engaging. I understand Anthem was a big project and is what is technically keeping Bioware Afloat right now but it was unacceptable to be released in the way it was. You could argue Destiny 1 was like this but the thing is we got new and actually fun content week after week with VOG, Queen's Wrath, Iron Banner Classic and The Dark Below teasers on the Moon and Cosmodrome. Anthem isn't getting its content for a very long time and the content we are getting looks more the same and trash. Bioware needs to make endgame fixes ASAP otherwise sales will dwindle further and I guarantee EA will close them down or force them to work on Mobile Games and I don't want that for Bioware KOTR and Mass Effect 2 are among my favorite games but it sucks to see them go down the rabbit hole twice first with Mass Effect Andromeda and now Anthem but I'm of the belief that Anthem will do something amazing some day and become Bioware's Swan Song just like Destiny The Taken King, Rise Of Iron and Forsaken did for Bungie in their dark periods of Destiny's life span lets hope Bioware is just as lucky but seeing as things are going now I doubt that will happen.
