The Emissary of the Nine called Drifter Dredgen?
Now is she calling him ‘dredgen’ like he’s THE Dredgen, or is she talking about the title?
If it’s the first one, I was right. Drifter is Dredgen Yor. However, if I am right(which is highly unlikely)it would contradict a lot of the lore behind Shin Malphur and the Drifter.
If it’s the second(which is much more likely)then, whatever.
Edit: I would like to mention that I don’t currently think Drifter is Dredgen Yor. This was a very old theory of mine and quite a few others.

Nope. All the Shadows Of Yor are Dredgen’s. Dredgen Bane And Dredgen Vale are the most popular as of late.

Probably the last time the Emissary of the Nine saw Drifter was when he was a Shadow of Yor, that's why he says "It's Drifter now" After the Emissary referred to him as Dredgen. I'm honestly quite intrigued as to see the relationship between the Nine and the Drifter. Maybe the Drifter sought help from the Nine to keep him safe from Shin Malphur? It's possible he wanted protection from Shin as we know that he is hunting down the Shadows of Yor. My guess is that the Drifter sought the Nine to protect him from Shin Malphur and in exchange he had to do something for the Nine, maybe that something was the Drifter had to organize the Reckoning and the Nine use the Reckoning as a way to test the skill of Guardians, that might explain why it takes place in the Unkown Space. Edit: The Nine probably know of our Guardian killing Uldren and they probably know that our guardian is starting to turn to the Darkness, so maybe they are trying to stop that? Or, plot twist, the Nine are actually evil and have been trying to get our Guardian to turn to the Darkness ever since they started the trials of the nine. And the Nine are working for the darkness... Highly unlikely, but it sure would make for one hell of a twist.

1 ReplyDrifter sure as hell isnt Dredgen yor. Yor wasn’t a gambling type, before and after his time on Luna. I believe she calls him Dredgen simply cause he ran with the Shadows of yor

7 RepliesIts certainly the title....and confirmation what he was a member of the Shadows of Yor...and that Shin Malphur is going around eliminating its members. Shin Malphur was essentially adopted by Jaren Ward....and knows The Drifter. He would have known if The Drifter were actually Dredgen Yor. The real mystery is ---once again----who-and-what are The Nine....and why are they interested in a Lightbearer who is walking the line between the Light and the Darkness. It also raises the question of who-or-what is "The Asset" that the Emissary and Mara Sov were discussing in meeting we interrupted.

1 ReplyPeople that think that drifter is Yor are lacking in critical thinking and sound reasoning. Shin Malphur has both met and talk to him, sorry but it's a leap too far for me to buy that he would speak to drifter and not recognize him as the man who killed Jared Ward . And as anyone who read drifter's lore knows , drifter once ran for a time with the Shadows of Yor , and as such gained the honorary title of Dredgen, the same title we can earn for Gambit.

Title. He is one of those.....THE Dredgen met his end at the end of a golden gun. The last words were his so to speak. Drifter is just another misguided clinger on to his misguided ideal. Of course Bungie is guiding our guardian down the same path though my guardians were forged in the light and wise enough to know a shadow when they see one....

3 Repliesunfortunately, Dredgen Yor was killed by Shin Malphur so the Drifter cant be him. However, Yor had a few followers who also beared the name Dredgen as a sign of devotion and respect... I think personally that he is one of those devoted followers. i would have loved it if Dredgen was still alive and if the Drifter really could be him. Awesom theory tho!
