I'm a day one Destiny 1 player. I've stuck with it through thick and thin, I've bought all the DLC's, I've spent countless hours playing. I've been away for a while and only recently I've decided to try getting back into it, with how much of a disappointment Anthem is.
But I just can't stand it anymore. I can't stand the grind, it's worse than it's ever been in either game. I can't stand the weeklies and dailies that make you play Crucible just to get that ever valuable powerful engram. I can't stand trying to play Crucible only to be mopped by ridiculously overpowered weapons and paired with teammates that don't work together or play objectives. I can't stand super snowballing, or playing on Dead Cliffs only to inevitably have my subpar team get stuck in that room in the corner of the map - you know the one if you're a solo player. I can't stand Gambit, where invaders have such an enormous advantage that I can repeatedly invade the enemy team and snipe them with little to no opposition, because they don't know where I spawn and I have a one shot weapon at all times. I can't stand shotguns, fusion rifles, or machine guns, and I feel filthy for using such cheap garbage to rack up easy kills.
I can't stand spending hours upon hours working towards my next bright engram only for it to be a worthless item. I can't stand the majority of my loot being trash legendaries. I can't stand infusion costs prohibiting its use until you hit cap and amass a pile of max-power gear. I can't stand the vast majority of content being an utter waste of time because of how unrewarding it is. I can't stand being excluded from events because I haven't been lucky enough with drops, and I can't stand how Eververse unlocks still cost bright dust to re-obtain. I can't stand a collection system where the vast majority of items can't be reobtained because of random rolls, and I can't stand how what little content we have is gated behind dozens of hours of grinding or perfect RNG.
Destiny has transformed from an engaging shooter-looter to an MMO lite with shooter looter elements. Every update seems to bring it closer to an FPS version of World of Warcraft, but without the content that makes WoW what it is.
You know what? I miss vanilla Destiny 2. All of it. I miss shotguns and sniper rifles and fusion rifles being heavy weapons, I miss the exclusion of machine guns for balancing purposes. I miss supers making the user vulnerable, and I miss level advantages being removed from PvP. I miss drops being rewarding, and I miss hand crafted item rolls. I miss all content being worth doing for the good chance to get more exotics, and I miss the sense of community behind it all.
Just like WoW, Destiny 2 is not the game I loved anymore. I hate it, and I hate the fact that I hate it.
I just can't stand Destiny anymore.

3 Replies(all prices mentioned are base and without sales). Destiny is a good game, the issue I see is that the game was largely considered at a fault, not particularly seen as a 'good game' throughout the gaming community. The forsaken DLC has largely been hailed to have 'fixed' Destiny 2. This is an issue. I already paid £50 or so for Destiny 2 at launch, and another £25 or so for the expansion pass for the Curse of Osiris and Warmind DLCs, the latter of the two being extremely lacklustre and in my opinion not worth it. I love the Destiny franchise and the lore that comes with, except I cannot afford (and also don't want to) to pay another £35 or so for the Forsaken DLC and then another £60 atop of it for the Annual Pass. All combined totals to around £170, I think many just aren't prepared to pay that amount for a game, especially since more than half of that price is for content that 'improves' or 'fixes' the game. You shouldn't need to pay to fix a game you have already bought.
