Destiny could learn a few things from anthem. In particular loadouts, customization and matchmaking.
Destiny could learn a few things from anthem. In particular loadouts, customization and matchmaking.
I personally love that it's been out like all of a week and a half and people are trashing it. Give it a couple months, then go in on it. Lmao
-
I dunno, the more I get into it I feel like it COULD take Destinys place for me. It’s got about 20 quality of life changes it needs ASAP, and about 6 months more content and rotation, tweaking, but the framework is there for something special.

4 RepliesI’ve enjoyed anthem quite a lot (now on holiday / played 2 days, back at it soon) but the game made me feel so grateful for Destiny and it’s polish I can’t tell you. Despite all the flaws, especially on console, there is nothing in anthem that isn’t done better in destiny by a mile.

20 RepliesEdited by CatMan: 2/27/2019 5:51:15 PMLet me be completely.... None of those things are true. Maybe the matchmaking yes. Anthem should have learned from them but did no such thing. Anthem is Destiny and the divisions little sister who can't do anything right, the division is the middle kid who doesn't gaf, and Destiny is the big brother who tries but still -blam!-s up from time to time....to time.....to time. Angry Joe said it best.
-
Most people say that the things you bring up are not great and matchmaking is hard as hell to do with freinds... if you’re not having these problems maybe your lucky... but what iv’e seen on streams loadouts etc are very boring...
-
1 ReplyLike how not to sell games? I was hoping it would be good....but its not. Such a disappointment. Gonna give the Division 2 open beta a go. Hopefully it doesn't suck.
-
3 RepliesI’m expecting this same post but with division 2.

Edited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 2/26/2019 3:41:20 PMIt’s not amazing, but it is fun so far. I like having the freedom to play what I want to play to earn gear instead of having my experience heavily dictated for me. No convoluted mechanics activities, no external LFG, no PvP for quest steps. I also like that not EVERYTHING is RNG. Things like story/lore, titles, color customization. The real test for Anthem will be the longevity one. Time will tell. Black Armory was terrible and Joker’s Wild looks like it will be worse unless they reveal new amazing info this week. Anthem came at the perfect time for me.

Loadouts don't feel like anything really There is very little customization, if anything, the best thing is just having a color wheel and texture select. except it only applies to Javelins, and you really only have one way to look for each one because there's no incentive to not just look one way. 4 outfits in Anthem, while I can have over 40 in Warframe and Destiny, each with actual reason. Matchmaking can throw noobs into the last mission of the game...
-
1 ReplyDestiny does loadouts 100x better than Anthem....
-
1 ReplyWhat customization in Anthem are you seeing? Are we playing the same game? There are TWO DIFFERENT MODELS for each class, and some cruddy paintjobs.
-
Edited by Dirty8Speciall: 2/25/2019 5:30:57 PMNope, as other people have said Destiny is the Destiny killer. This game has continued on in spite of itself a lot of the time. We went two years backwards, lost half off the content, and still the game has a fairly large number of players coming back for more. Some day someone will actually do it better, Bungie's inability to innovate and move forward is what will kill the game.
-
13 RepliesD2 is the ultimate Destiny killer. ...at least it was for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Destiny could definitely learn some things from Borderlands.
-
I completely agree.
-
good thing Division ,Anthem & Mortal Kombat are here to aliviate the pain, Destiny's gonna be dry till the end of 2019. and this Annual pass BS is a total cashgrab
-
EA is the Anthem killer
-
3 RepliesCustomization? I think D2 does well with that. Individual shaders for individual armor pieces. Not as much as anthem in that the type of texture etc but it’s still good. Loudouts? I have to disagree here. You cannot equip weapons you get in free roam or missions right there, you have to load into the fort, then load go to the suit area, then load into the forge to just equip it. Destiny you can equip it then and there or get it from post master using Bungie app/DIM. Bungie does have matchmaking. Even optional matchmaking for PvE endgame.
-
11 RepliesOnly thing that can kill Destiny is Bungie, and the only thing it can learn from Anthem is not to BE Anthem.
-
Matchmaking?! Yes, we need even more loading screens
-
Anthem = Andromeda, i.e., laugh out loud.

It would be amazing if we could reacquire customized gear from collections with perks we have already collected at the cost of not being able to infuse them up to max power levels. Can’t go into Iron Banner without the Power Level disadvantage. It would be Prestige-like difficulty to beat the Raid with them; a Self imposed hard mode. But, you could have a custom build while you hunt for an infusable drop from the wilds. Maybe even make a Ghost Perk that increases the odds of wild drops having the same perks as your currently equipped gear. Time Investment and willingness to work towards a goal required. But light at the end of the tunnel in terms of obtaining an armor build in a reasonable amount of time. (Before the next expansion or season launches and the hunt for new armor to make builds starts over again)

1 ReplyI can kinda see customization in General, but loadouts? Destiny does it better imo. Just switch on the fly.
-
yes I really love the anthem gear system, what if bungie brought back artifacts but instead of giving useless stats they did something similar to what anthem does with their loadouts, customization? I just think their should be more ability to change your guardians face, so that im not ashamed of it and barely show it haha

DIVISION 2 MARCH 12TH!
-
The only thing destiny can learn from Anthem is the customization. Customization for the javelins is far superior to the destiny system. Something I would like to see added on to destiny the comes from Anthem is how the masterworks have those stat bonus’s, how great would it be if exotics could roll with a 15% extra magazine size, or 20% faster reload, or does 10% more damage to majors or kills give slightly more super energy. And just have a dividing line separating it from the main perks and say extra stats are disabled in PvP, that way it’s something bungie dosent have to balance(coming from a mostly PvP player)
