Across D1 and D2, which DLC/expansion do you think was most lazily written, or didn’t actually follow the lore of their characters well, or contradicted/retconned lots of stuff, or just generally added the least to the lore of the universe. I know some are obviously not gonna be picked, but I still put them all.

Alright who voted Forsaken you’re an idiot

Anyone who voted forsaken is trippin

7 RepliesWhy is Black Armory not the most voted?

1 ReplyWho tf said warmind
-
12 RepliesLore wise yet people are voting curse? Warmind had almost nothing.

19 RepliesEdited by SuperJohnJohn: 2/21/2019 7:21:05 PMWarmind messed up the warmind lore.
-
1 ReplySomeone actually voted Taken King wow
-
25 RepliesEdited by Cinderchar: 2/21/2019 5:05:40 PMI think the ending of the Forsaken campaign might be the worst thing they have produced. You spend the whole campaign tracking down Uldren just to fight a floating a-n-u-s. WTF?

11 RepliesOh no! Osiris is lost in the infinite forest! We’ve gotta save him!!! *saves him Osiris: Thanks! *turns around and walks back into the forest

3 RepliesFunny story for you. Remember that Centurion Oryx “took”? Well word is the Psion flayers have been let out of their cages to dig around in Central AI’s Cortex, which means the Fallen in the Ishtar Sink raided the Prison of Elders - got an Archon priest - he’s well protected, but with the right team we can break through those defenses, take this beast out and break their grip on Venus, but your old friend Sepiks Prime is back, and apparently better than ever thanks to the Devil Splicers and SIVA, it’s begun to repair the schism torn by the Black Garden’s destruction, Vex now flood the Garden channels to protect it, we must stop the weavers before they seal the Garden, Alak-Hul, the Darkblade is one such, long ago he fomented rebellion against the King and attempted to take his mantle, now he works for Wolf Pack, but not for looong.

Curse of Osiris ruined one of the coolest characters and coolest factions, ca CoO just be non canon, people would like it better then, it didn’t have an endgame anyways so I’ll just say it’s non canon.

9 RepliesI thought Curse of Osiris dumped all over the Osiris lore (he's just a bumbling screw up doing irrelevant work who needs us to bail him out). But Warmind.... Warmind COMPLETLY WASTED one of the coolest lore elements in Destiny (Rasputin). Suprise, he's actually on Mars! And his ultimate weapon is a spear, wow so powerful! Honestly they were better off leaving Rasputin shrouded in mystery. Best lore by far was TTK. It might have been a little TOO good. They build Oryx up to be the number 1 bad guy of the universe, the ultimate final boss of the Destiny franchise. Every subsequent threat we face feels like a step down, like they should have saved Oryx for last. The only possible exceptions: the pyramid ships, and "the darkness" (once they figure out what the darkness is, trust me they have no idea what they want it to be yet).

1 ReplyWarmind was by far the worst lorewise. CoO was actually a brilliant plot, but exceedingly poorly conveyed. Warmind was a lazy plot and even lazier conveyance. It cheapens the legends and mysteries of some characters(Ana Bray, Nokris, Xol), and directly contradicts the previous actions of others (Zavala, Rasputin, the Iron Lords to an extent). It's just straight bad.

2 RepliesROI seemed to be retconned as there is little mention of it anywhere
-
4 RepliesI vote for Annual Pass.
-
They legit got a crazy amount of backlash and lost a lot of the fanbase on osiris then did forsaken to redeem themselves and gave us even less content for black armory.
-
4 RepliesAlthough warmind improved d2, it probably was the weakest story to date (Although black armory makes no sense so far - haven't had much luck with lore page drops, so there's a lot I don't know yet!). All of a sudden we knew it was xol!! I mean, when did that happen?? Were we not around for the introduction?? And then some chat from Rasputin at the end, followed by a 'we got this'; we've got what exactly, it's done isn't it???
-
6 Replies
House of Wolves is still the best DLC in either Destiny game
-
5 RepliesThe black armory should have it's own option - because it's its own content - it's probably the worst content of D2 and yes I've played CoO. No story, no idea of what we're doing, or why. It's also extremely lazy on Bungo's part to put it in the Tower; no-one's ever find it and only done random fallen dude knows about it lol. I literally laughed out loud just now while writing this...

They made Osiris into a bumbling fool. The idiot keeps remaking the Super Cyclops thinking "it's going to be different this time" and it keeps trying to claim the Forest as it's own. He probably knew what was going on with Saint-14 and straight up ignored it. He probably knew the instant Saint-14 entered The Forest.
-
Lore-wise, probably Curse of Osiris. Content wise, Black Armory.
-
2 RepliesI actually rather enjoyed how they presented Osiris as a character. The overall story for the expansion was trash no doubt and especially disappointing with the wasted potential of Saint-14. But personally I believe that it was unique how they made Osiris like any other guardian, but was utterly misunderstood for his immense knowledge of the Vex. People mistook his research for prophecies of a god-like being.

As bad as The Dark Below was the story set up The Taken King so it gets a pass. I'd say Curse of Osiris this guy has been built up since House of Wolves, he has cult following and people were holding tournaments in his name. You finally see him and he's a liability putting everyone in danger with The Infinite Forest you never get a straight answer out of him for anything ever. Osiris should have been a guy we cooperate with at first then realise he's too far gone he goes full villain and then we kill him off I mean are Bungie really going to bring him back for anything later? Saint-14 felt like the hero of the story by the end and they were barely in it.
Warmind sucked though keep in mind that in D1 we thought Rasputin was on Earth but really is on Mars, WE GO TO MARS IN D1 and is has no problem with the Cabal, Vex and Taken roaming around or that giant Hive breeding ground under the surface of their planet apparently

The whole Fallen storyline. The Traveller abandons The Fallen most of the Archon get captured and are held in The Prison of Elders. Under Skolas they get Vex tech he dies, they move on to Siva that doesn't work so they abandon the servitors get taken in by The Barons and become The Scorn, Barons die then Scourge Of The Past happens. The Fallen are the first enemy we use as target practise and they are still here. I get the desperation of The Fallen is leading them to these things but this is getting out of hand and borderline comedic at this point
-
I'd put Black Armory as a write in, just because I hate it worse than anything they've ever done.
-
5 RepliesYou need to put the annual pass as it's own option.
