Destiny and PvP have a weird relationship. Destiny is widely regarded as a PvE game but if we are honest Trials of Osiris saved this game after a very bad launch. I could care less about twitch streams and all that bs cause as a destiny player i don't care out the "directory". What i do know is that Trials was the Raid to pvp players. And weekly you could do your "pinnacle(that word is so dirty now)" event and get your top tier loot. D1Y1 trials even had elemental Primaries if you went flawless. It was great a way to get awesome loot armor and weapons and even adept if you were good enough or got lucky.
We don't have to go into why Destiny 2 Trials failed horrible, it was sandbox + it was never trials. It was survival and countdown not what trials was at all. So of course it failed. It was never going to be successful. The bad sandbox made things so much worse but the fundamental change of gametypes and competitors 3v3 vs 4v4 ruined trials. Lets state this so everyone understands Trials = 3v3 elimination that is it, nothing else.
This created a huge hole for the pvp community. Comp was introduced at the release of Destiny 2. It has been the least populated playlist the entire history of the game because as a community we do not like 4v4 countdown and survival. Bungie after initial cancelling of trials happened they wanted to funnel the people who would have played trials into the comp playlist and introduced The Redrix Claymore. They removed the hud and created the most toxic playlist in the history of Destiny. One in which such a small percentage of the community was able to achieve fabled a mid tier, they had to revamp the entire system. Reintroduced the hud added more popular gamemodes clash/control and decided to use 2 beyond broken weapons as bait.
They say you should never make decisions when your desperate. And the Luna's Howl and Not Forgotten were born from desperation. These guns have been the focal point in the divide in the community since release. Regardless of how you feel good or bad about the weapons they have driven more people away from the game than attracted people to it.
For those who have stuck it out and play the playlist, they usually stop after getting 1 of the 2 guns. I would say i have 4-5 pages of friends who have me and 4 others have Luna only 1 has Not forgotten. To be honest the Not forgotten is impossible to achieve for 98% of the remaining community who still plays so why would anybody even bother trying. When on top of everything the comp playlist is not fun. The reason its impossible is that we do not have the will to play a non fun playlsit for about 6-8 meters in range. The payoff is not there. Comp as a replacement of Trials has been a failure cause universally it is not liked by the community(i get that you as an individual may like it, stats show the community would rather jump of a bridge.)
With comp being such a non desirable place to play where do you think the people who got luna's go to? . I have a luna, i like pvp, i don't like comp what are my options Quickplay it is. So quickplay becomes the stomping grounds cause one playground is stress free (qp)and the other is filled with broken bottles and crack viles(comp). Bungie gave the luna's user no where to go with this weapon. So the good players have been armed with a broken weapon, went thru ninja training(comp list) and now are pub stomping everyone who is trying to enjoy the game.
Trials being removed created a void, which in desperation created 2 guns that created tear in the community. And on top of that Comp never was able to be the raid equivalent for pvp players. There is no armor to be earned, no ornaments, no adept weapons. The beauty of trials was that you sat for a few hours got your flawless or 5 wins or 3 whatever your level was, got some gear, hopefully a nice roll and it was over. Comp is not like that. Its 2 weapons and if you have luna its 1. It comes at the end and the grind to the gun probably not worth it.(time wasted/frustration/lack of fun).
If they are going to remove trials they need to introduce something that is not comp that will fill the pvp version of the raid, that has armor and weapons not just 1 or 2.
This post is way to long sorry................

1 Reply99% of the time I see a post that references LH/NF it's created by a console player. I'm not going to be able to relate because LH/NF aren't problems on PC. I don't think its problem on PC because there is no aim assist with M&K. If you hit your shots, you get rewarded. I don't see why the Devs just don't test reducing the aim assist on console if those weapons are so dominant there.
