Soooo.....I recently found the reveal trailer for hollow knight silksong, a sequel to hollow knight and my mind is blown on what's to come. I'm interested in hearing some of your theories on what the story could be if you're a fan of the first game. If you haven't seen the trailer yet, do so ASAP. Be civil in discussions plz.

3 RepliesAnyone else find something of interest in the trailer? I think the moss zone is likely a starting area based on the fact what I assume is the boss for the area seemed very simple for a boss when compared to the others shown. I wonder though if they did this as a reference to greenpath, where players first encountered hornet.

9 RepliesI just noticed.. Enemies weren’t dropping any Geo. There’s once scene (the one where Hornet throws that grenade) why they might be dropping something else, but that could also just be shrapnel. As far as I can tell, Silksong might not actually use money. :o

2 RepliesAnyone else feel like hornet sounded a little off when compared to the first game? She sounded higher pitched than the original game.

The combat was insane just imagine how they'll design the bosses. Team cherry has made me feel ok to be hyped for something.

7 RepliesI'm curious about how the crest system will work. Will red be offensive gadgets with blue for defense, and yellow for some kind of utility. Or could the red be the main tool and the blue and yellow slots are augments for the red slot.

4 RepliesSpoilers for Hollow Knight:
So, we know Hornet is the daughter the Pale King & Herrah, the Queen of Deepnest. The affair was part of a bargain, and Herrah’s end of the deal was that she would become one of the Pale King’d Dreamers, sealing away the Hollow Knight at the cost of her life.. Why? It was assumed Herrah simply wanted her bloodline on the throne, a political agenda to bridge their two kingdoms. Now, I don’t think so. The name “Silksong” harkons back to a Charm in HK called “Weaversong”. The (silk)Weavers are essentially spiders, and among their ranks was Herrah. This makes Hornet half-Weaver, which in addition to being the origin of her string (web) fighting style, also gives the trailer some context. Weaversong tells us that the Weavers left Hallownest after it fell. Their queen was for all intents and purposes, dead, their princess was missing (getting trained by Vespa), so they left. Where? Perhaps, they went home, to a kingdom of silk and song. But, their princess wasn’t dead. They found her, again. Notice in the trailer, Hornet is bound, and her supposed cage is more like a palenquin. She’s getting escorted, not kidnapped, to the place of her mother’s birth. Whatever reason Herrah needed a daughter enough to sacrifice her own life, I think we’ll find it. The kingdom of Silksong is haunted, we know this. Soul of god, blood of silk. Sounds like the perfect candidate to break a curse.
