Bungie matchmaking sux for casual players

Why is crucible matchmaking so awful for new/casual players?. I'm at light level 540, and admittedly not that strong ( 10 kills is a good game for me) , but I regularly get placed in games with 650 level players with all kind of weapon advantages who are pulling 30+ kills. Really, that much of skill gap should never happen. I mostly feel like I'm just a roaming target for the entertainment of Bungie's clearly-preferred customers. If this is just the way Bungie wants it, I wish they would be clear about that and I'll just stop investing in this game. I'm sure I'll get a bunch of juvenile "you just suck" comments, but I hope that someone from Bungie actually reads this if they are interested in the casual gamer as a customer.

  • To clear the air. In quickplay and comp. light level is not taken into account, as is shown that Level Advantage is Disabled. (Or however it reads) Quickplay has for some time no longer had sbmm (skill based match making) which makes it an entirely sweatty place to hang out. This is so the Select Few are able to roam around in packs "casually" taking advantage of lesser skilled players. It is a slap in the face of all non-PvP centric players. If you really want to get worked up, play next week. Iron Banner will be back and light level will matter. At 540 you will be at a clear disadvantage to those at 650 - HOWEVER sbmm is reinstated. So you are more likely to run into lessor skilled players like yourself. Comp. uses your Glory rank to find games but the caliber of player in there is better (but not always). Though with less players (4v4) it does open up the maps a little more.

    • I hate comp so much, If it’s not a boy band, it’s a DDoS while you’re on a win streak or even worst a losing streak. It’s not Comp it’s the devils slot machine. And it’s not meant to be causal. Hard bottoms (dusk rock), tux (Luna’s/nf) and tails (wardcliff coil)only sir All I have is torn jeans and my USA tee shit.

        • Unfortunately quite a few of us feel this way and thats why i have not touched crucible/gambit for ages. From a fellow Filthy Casual, its just not fun for me any more. Hopefully bungie will take note at some point in the future or maybe not.
