Pro-Lifers aren’t actually pro life...
They are anti-choice.
If they were pro life then they would be against the death penalty, further, they would be for all sorts of social safety nets, and against war.

2 RepliesI always have a huge dose of skepticism and doubt of the person's character/morals when they claim that they are pro-life, but they're also pro-capital punishment. In one way, they support human life, but at the same time, they also support eliminating human life. It's a massive contradiction of their personal beliefs. I'd like someone who believes in both of this to explain their reasoning as to why they're for keeping an unborn fetus to term and ultimately being born, but they're also pro-killing another living human being who, while did something heinous, is still alive and is a human being. I'd like someone who holds these beliefs to explain why they're essentially supporting two viewpoints that are objectively in stark contrast of each other. The question isn't aimed towards someone who is pro-life, but they're also anti-capital punishment. With someone who holds these beliefs, they're keeping the trend of being pro-life consistent.

81 RepliesActually many Catholics are pro-life...and the official position of the Catholic Church is pro-life. Being against the death penalty, abortion, euthanasia/"assisted suicide", etc... Their position is an ideologically consistent one of "Only God has the power to give or take LIfe, and Humanity has a responsibility to do whatever is in our power to preserve it." Only the ultra-conservative Protestants here in the US are somewhat hypocritical about this. Being essentially anti-abortion...while at the same time not giving a crap what happens to the kid after he or she gets squeezed out of the womb and into the world.

If they were pro-choice then they would be against abortion, since abortion conveniently doesn’t allow babies to have a choice in their fate. Further, they would be for all sorts of social safety nets for the sake of children of all developmental stages and genetic make-ups.

I believe if your crime is heinous enough to warrant death, the prison system should be setup in a way to house those sickened individuals who have chosen to give up their right to live in a civilized society to live out the rest of their lives in solitary confinement. I am FOR all assistance programs available to those less fortunate. However, it IS NOT and SHOULD NOT be a “way of life” for as it’s already painfully obvious, millions upon millions of people take complete advantage of said systems and are completely reliant on those assistance programs. Get off your lazy ass and DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR SITUATION. Against war well yes... however, it’s in the best interest of all Americans to take care of situations BEFORE they have massive escalations that would compromise our great nation. “Nip it in the bud” is a better solution rather than “clean up on isle 4”.
