Blade Barrage Counters Arcstrider Deflect?
So I was doing some Crimson Days matches and I was running Way of the Current for Arcstrider. I wanted to see how many supers I could deflect and counter.
A few matches ago, I was using my Super and the enemy hunter was about to launch their knives at me with Blade Barrage.
I deflect.... But instead of the hunter dying by the deflected knives, I died.
My guess is because Blade barrage now relys a lot on the explosions rather than the knives hitting.
It counters the deflect because of the explosions. The knives won't kill. The explosions will. Which means you'll have to be a certain distance to kill the hunter without dying.
But since most hunters running Blade barrage get up close in person.
Its almost impossible to kill the hunter while surviving.

Also, am I the only one who has this issue?

You either have to be right in their face so the knives do not have a chance to spread out behind you or jumping while blocking. If one knife explosion hits you, you are dead. If you jump, the other player will instinctively try to aim their super at you and it will be way easier to deflect. I have deflected a Blade Barrage with Antaeus Wards. Definitely easier with Arcstrider.

The explosions do more damage now and knives less since the recent super patch that nerfed nova warp

way of the current blocking does in fact block blade barrages. you must have been too late to block or gotten a bug or something is all i can say.

3 RepliesIt's better to be in the air when a blade barrage gets thrown at you, some knives maybe went behind you, and they blew up behind you, or you walked in them.

Did you walk over knives that were on the ground about to explode? If so this may be why.

2 RepliesMaybe you stopped the spinning guard too soon? I used it quite a bit this past Mayhem and killed plenty of BB Hunters and their teammates with it.
